College Basketball Open Thread: Noon-4 PM EST
Saturday, December 13, 2008
It's kind of weird having a weekend without the Pammies for me. So, we'll do open threads for the hoops games, and maybe a live-blog of the Xavier-Cincinnati game if I feel up to it/if there's enough interest. Anyway, the early shift starts with some interesting non-con matchups, Memphis-G'Town and Tennessee-Temple among the bigger names. Here's this week's schedule, and the games running until 4 PM EST.
We'll see if Nessler is as goofy with Raf as he is with Griese and Maguire.
Tennessee @ Temple (ESPN, Noon)- Brad Nessler, Bill Raftery
Long Beach State @ Syracuse (ESPNU, Noon)- Dave Ryan, Jay Williams
St. Francis (NY) @ Hofstra (MSG+, Noon)- TBD (Will Air on FCS Atlantic)
Butler @ Ohio State (BTN, Noon)- Tom Hamilton, Jim Jackson
Texas State @ Texas (FS Southwest, 1pm)- TBD
Austin Peay @ Louisville (Big East Network, 1pm)- TBD (Will Air on SNY, MASN, WHAS)
Memphis @ Georgetown (CBS, 2pm)- Jim Nantz, Clark Kellogg
Massachusetts @ Kansas (ESPN, 2pm)- Ron Franklin, Fran Fraschilla

I must've been imagining things. There's no way in Hell that the ESPN Bottom Line actually had '58 Colts-'58 Giants on it.
That may not have been the score so much as a promo, RJBO.
No, RJBO is right. They had it on the bottom line, plus stats going into the game as well.
-1 for ESPN.
Did Raf say "a win by temple would have christmas coming early"
Nessler: "Have yourself a Merry little Christmas"
@S2N Turn to ESPN 2, and you will get your dose of Pammy for the weekend.
Jim Nantz and Clark Kellogg in Tuxes?
This isn't an exact quote, I do have it DVRd, so I can check later.
Raftery: "You've always been high on Christmas."
Nessler: "Yes, I have been."
Raftery: "So to speak."
Nessler: "Not literally... well not always at least."
Oaklandfan - I hate bow ties so much.
"He played him like a drum there. "- Ray Bentley on a replay of a TD scored by NW Missouri St in the D-II title game
Correction: Minnesota Duluth scored TD, my mistake.
I am enjoying Clark Kellogg a lot more than Billy Packer already. Can't wait for March.
Raf is golden. "Like a Philly cheesesteak -- looks good, feels good!" after a Temple player scored.
