Billy Gillispie Still Hates Jeanine Edwards
Wednesday, February 11, 2009
A few weeks back, Jeanine Edwards got the business for asking a dumb question to Kentucky Coach Billy Gillispie, and last night it happened again. Instead of having Edwards work a different game, or interview the opposing coach, ESPN sent the brave reporter back into the ring with him last night, and here was the result. Via College Hoops Journal....
"A priority for you was to take away Nick Calathes' vision. How effective do you think you've been on that front?"- Jeanine Edwards
"You know more about it than I do, obviously. Some of these things I haven't heard of. But (pause) he's controlling ..."- Billy Gillispie
Obviously not as bad as the first one, but Gillispie still seems to have some irrational hate for Edwards. I wonder if he would give Erin Andrews the same treatment? Oh and good job on Edwards' part to stay professional and approach the coach again.

Billy Gillispie Is Not A Fan Of Sideline Reporters (Awful Announcing)

Take away his vision??? Was UK trying to rip his eyes out?
Hence, why sideline reporters are useless (that includes Erin Andrews). The generic and/or stupid questions will eventually get to a coach and they'll come up with snappy/sarcastic answers.
Edwards second question was ridiculous. Calathes was killing Kentucky (16 first half points) and she's asking him how they're doing against him.
HOW DOES IT LOOK LIKE THEY"RE DOING?!?!
I liked how ESPN put her right at the end of UK's bench just before tipoff to report how the players were fighting with each other in the locker room after the MSU loss. Maybe they realize how out of place she looks and acts in the college basketball environment and are setting her up to fail or quit. As useless/ worthless as having sideline reporters is (especially in hoops), this girl seems to set the bar even lower.
Billy Gillisipie is a jackass but it would be in Edwards' best interests to ask better questions.
Now wouldn't it be interesting if she did not stay professional? She'd be fired, but it'd be hilarious to see a stupid sideline reporter bicker with a coach...
No wonder CBS got rid of sideline reporters.
I can't stand asking any coach a question at half time. I wish more coaches would act disgusted like Billy G has in hopes that they will quit this crap. But on a side note Billy G called to apologize for the comments the first time....I doubt he will this time though.
As a UK fan, I'm embarrassed at the way Gillispie has treated this woman.
He's no Tubby Smith as far as class goes
Saw this live last night and had a laugh when Gillispie said he didn't hear the question. Probably could have just anticipated what Edward was going to ask and ramble on about something.
