(The President-elect tells his brother-in-law and Oregon State coach how to beat the Huskers)

For you late night hoops people, after a day where Dionte Christmas drops 35 on Tennessee, G'Town takes out Memphis in OT, UMass beat a lackluster looking Kansas team, and the peppermint blood flowed freely in Lexington:

Xavier @ Cincinnati (ESPN2, 8pm)- Dave O'Brien, Jay Bilas
UW-Green Bay @ Wisconsin (BTN, 8pm)- Mel Proctor, Shon Morris
Nebraska @ Oregon State (FSN Regional, 8pm)- TBD (Will Air on FS Northwest, Midwest, FCS Pacific)
Texas A&M @ Alabama (CSS, 8pm)- TBD
San Diego @ Oregon (OSN, 8pm)- TBD
Portland @ Brigham Young (MTN, 10pm)- TBD
Montana State v. Washington State (FS Northwest, 10pm)- TBD (Will Air on FCS Pacific)

I like Pitt a lot. They remind me of the Flint Stones championship team.

Bilas: "Xavier has been giving the Heisman to Cincinnati's chances of winning."

RJBO - that was particularly golden. Bilas being a Raftery rip off with his humor at times is not a bad thing.

I love the combo of McDonough, Bilas & Raftery: usually a good game and at least two personal shots every game.

I'm watching Capitals-Canadiens on HNIC, and during the intermission, the Capitals' Sergei Federov practically got mugged by the CBC production assistant to place a towel around his neck with the CBC logo on it.

And Mike Milbury, who helped run two NHL franchises into ground (boston and Islanders) of all
people criticized Barry Melrose.

Don Cherry had this bright red velvet coat on. Theyre using "Take Me Out to Ballgame" in a commercial to promote Winter Classic between Chicago and Detroit at Wrigley Field.

Cincy football player Connor Barwin, addressing the Bearcat crowd at halftime: "If Xavier had a football team, we'd whoop their ass."

@jg: My non-college hoops night was spent watching the Pistons giving away a 29 point 2nd half lead to THE FREAKING BOBCATS, only to hold on at the end.

@RJBO

I was just taking advantage to see one of my hometown teams when I got the chance. The Capitals have so many injuries right now half their top minor league is playing in NHL. The Caps had to beat some ref home cooking, and a rookie goalie making his first start in Montreal.

@jg: I was just making a point that Michael Curry better get the Pistons to respond or he'll meet the same fate Mo Cheeks did today (unfair as that might be), not trying to make a crack against hockey or anything.

I was tempted earlier to make a crack about Cincinnati not having a basketball team, but they've really fought back versus Xavier, despite the boneheaded shots & technical fouls.

@RJBO

didnt take it as a crack on hockey. The carnage among NHL and NBA coaches this year is amazing. Caps fired coach last year, and promoted minor league coach went from last place to playoff team.

No problem. Just making sure I wasn't misunderstood.

Bilas: "I am concerned about (Cashmere) Wright. He doesn't have a name for the Big East. It sounds too hoity-toity.
...He should change his name to 100% wool or steel wool, or something."
