Breaking News: Keyshawn Retires and Instantaneously Becomes an ESPN Anchor

Wednesday, May 23, 2007

Which network wants/needs a loud mouthed ex-wide receiver? All of you??? Sorry....too late.....

"Following Keyshawn's retirement announcement we plan an announcement on his joining ESPN," the network said Wednesday.

"The timing of it was just right," Stanley said of Johnson's decision. "There were a couple of slots open in broadcasting. He was either going to retire this year or next year, but the timing just turned out to be right now."
Wow....that was quick. Give the dude some time to breath for god's sake. While Keyshawn was good during the draft I'm curious to see what he can do with the yucksters in the studio. Poor Poor Michael....they replaced you, with you.

Does ESPN just hire the best idiot available? Kind of like the pro draft theory of choosing?

From a personality standpoint, I don't see how Keyshawn and Mike are close to being similar. Irvin embraced being outrageous and off the cuff. Keyshawn seemed to be very measured and logical with his approach.

Over the past few years, Key hasn't been that outspoken. He made no waves in Dallas or Carolina, after talking his way out of Tampa.

I also don't see how Keyshawn is an idiot. He retires from football sooner rather than later, and moves directly to tv. Seems pretty smart to me.
