Wait, So It's Wrong To Ask A Guy About A Phone Call He Had With His Dead Mentor?

Monday, October 27, 2008

Man, you know that feeling you get right before a cringe-worthy moment happens? Well, this takes that to a whole new level. Danyelle Sargent is a sideline reporter for FOX and yesterday she was set on getting Mike Singeltary's thoughts on a dinner he had with his "mentor" following his hiring by the 49ers. One small problem....Bill Walsh passed away over a year ago.

Here is Mike Francessa with the clip on Mike'd up last night....

Unbelievable. Man that was bad. I love how she starts wondering what she did wrong right away and completely ignores the stunned Singeltary. Mike also says that we shouldn't pick on the girl, but I disagree. I'm sorry but that's something that everyone in Sports needs to know, and inexcusable to me. Francessa is also wrong about Singeltary not being a disciple of Walsh's because he talked to the man all-the-time. But this isn't about Mike being wrong, it's about our friend Danyelle. Who ironically was the same person that flipped out and dropped an f-bomb on ESPN News a few years back.

Are we sure Danyelle needs to be working in Sports? Good lord. Oh and while that's how Singeltary's day started, I think we need to also show the way it ended.....

I like him already!

She was a train wreck when she was on ESPN News. Her f-bomb put us out of our misery there, at least.

Wow! Talk about a dagger through the heart of every single aspiring female sideline reporter that wanted to be taken seriously. This was Soooo Brutal!

Singletary was known around Chicago as the draft choice from Baylor who'd already broken something like 12 helmets during his years there - no wonder he got the nickname of "Samari Mike" while on the Bears. Those players better get ready, they have no idea what's coming.

dmac, I'm pretty sure that it is "Samurai". And how dare she disrespect a Tecmo Bowl legend.

Singletary should have told Danyelle Sargent to hit the showers after that :-)

The worst part about Singeltary's mistake is that she didn't even realize the mistake she made or what she said. That's bad. Just bad.

Danyelle Sargent was demonstrating that her sports knowledge is equal to that of Jeanne Zelasko. Get all of the no-talent, clueless bimbos off of TV already!

Is there a rule about how long they have to wait until they can use Singletary's press conference in one of those Coors Light commercials?

I think she was trying to say that when Singletary joined the 49ers as an assistant, Walsh talked to him...which would have been possible, since that was back in 2005, when Nolan joined the team.
But the whole subject should have just been skipped.

I think Mike Singletary would be better off and more successful coaching college football. Today's NFL players don't respond to intense coaches. Isn't that why Parcells gave it up?

Singletary is a stud. The 49ers "can't do it" (a quote from his press conference) this way. Get a clue, Niners, or you'll be my apprentices at Mid-Utah Radio. Talk about a degrading assignment. (I don't get paid...)

This idear that you can make fun of this girl is patently ridiculous, even though she made an enawmous mistake. That's a good, not great, good post.
