Game Five Officially Suspended Until Tomorrow Night, Or Longer

Monday, October 27, 2008

Well that throws a wrench into things doesn't it? Game Five has been officially labeled as suspended and it won't be finished tonight. The game will be picked up in the same spot tomorrow (weather permitting and it doesn't look good) thanks to a Carlos Pena single in the Top of the Sixth, and here is the explanation of why the league suspended the game from COO Bob DuPuy....

I'm sure all Philly fans just want to try and end this thing tonight, but with the way that field was starting to look, the decision was ultimately the fairest for all parties involved. I'll pick the live-blog up whenever the weather lets us get this thing in. Geesh.

Charles Barkley clowned on Tiger Woods during Conan O'Brien.

It was pretty funny.

fucking bullshit game should have been stopped in top of 6th, now rays get unfair advantage of starting the bottom of 6th inning in way better field conditions than phillies .......no way rays second run scores without the absolutely dreadful conditions.....

The game should have been stopped way earlier. I looked at the radar and there was no way they were going to get that game in. Bud Selig is a fucking moron. He was going to let the biggest game of the year, the World Chamionship be decided on a rain out. What a crappy way to end the season. This would be like NASCAR ending the season on a yellow flag with the top two drivers tied in the points and one of them one second behind him. It would be total bullshit. Luckily, the Rays scored to tie it. Not sure how the Rays will have an advantage like the guy above said.

The best part about this interview is how Chris Meyers made sure he was under the umbrella, but Bob DuPuy was on his own. I laughed too hard the first time and had to watch it again to actually listen to them.

Talking about winds gusting up to 40 - 50 mph and temperatures in the 30's. I think Selig will bump it till tomorrow.

The Rays have the advantage? I would give the advantage to the Phils because they are going to have 4 at-bats, whereas only 3 for the Rays.

P.S. Current gametime forecast from weather.com: 50% chance of showeres and wind, with the temperature at 40. Winds are expected to be to the WNW at 25 mph, making it feel like it is 29 degrees.
