Last Post On Boomer And Aikman (I Promise)

Monday, October 20, 2008

I meant to get this up last Friday, but for some reason Comcast Cable decided to randomly shut my service off for a day and a half. Boomer Esiason finally addressed the "Esiason Affair" at the end of last week and ultimately stood by his comments on Troy Aikman (as he should have). The topic of the "raging debate" came up on PTI on Thursday evening, and Boomer and radio host Craig Carton decided to listen to that audio and comment on the whole
"affair" after the clip.

I agree with just about everything on Boomer's end, buuuuut the part where he and Carton question why Aikman is so pissed. I don't believe he's trying to be pro-Cowboy, but rather that it just comes out from time to time. I think him firing back shows that he certainly tries to not favor the team, and if someone called me out like that....I'd have done the same thing.

Neither Boomer or Aikman mentioned the debate on-air yesterday (not that they should have), so that's probably the last we'll (and you'll) hear about this.

Can Boomer leave this alone. I'm an Eagles fan, and I've never really noticed the bias. Drop it Boomer.

I agree. He's sounding like Letterman's whining for two weeks after McCain bailed on him.

AA, you better stick to your promise. This story sucks more than Romeo Crennel's coaching.

Aikman was on "Mike'd Up" on Friday and said he has an appearance scheduled on the Boomer/Carton show in a few weeks. Looks like we haven't seen the end of it.

Yes, it's time to put the Boomer/Aikman story to bed and move on to Glazer's report on Favre speaking to the Lions.

Now that is something that qualifies as a scoop and Glazer should be showered with praise. Being the first to "break news" of a trade that will be announced thirty minutes later isn't a big deal. However, this is something entirely different...

@shawn kemp: I just heard the interview Rome had with Glazer about the Favre story. Peter King should shut the fuck up about "going to Favre with the story first" before reporting it.

RJBO - That would be good advice for Peter King as far as any story involving Brett Favre is concerned. King has absolutely no credibility when it comes to anything regarding Favre...none.

AA --- Why haven't you figured out by now that Esiason is Hall of Fame creep? He's a self-absorbed megalomaniac who can't live without attention. He tried pulling the same sort of crap with Marino a couple of years ago before Peyton Manning finally won his Super Bowl. He said something about Manning being destined to be another Marino (lots of records but no ring). Marino's eyes shot daggers at the blond fraud. He should have decked the prick.

The Aikman thing was all jealousy. Don't forget Blondie had a lifetime LOSING record as a starting quarterback. And on the air, he's always sucked.
