The Phillies Take The NLCS
Thursday, October 16, 2008
Just a great showing by the Phils from start to finish in this Series. Tonight, with a little help from an early J-Roll homer, a few Furcal errors and some amazing pitching by Cole Hamels, the took the National League Crown. Here are your highlights....
Cole Hamels is your MVP after only allowing three runs in two NLCS games, but as you could tell in the clip above, Shane Victorino was the spark. Enjoy it tonight Philly fans, but the World Series begins October 20th. We'll see if the Rays can follow suit tomorrow night and join the party.

jfein, that line at the end beats whatever the hell Joe Buck said after the final out.
Between the deaths of Charlie Manuel's mom and Shane Victorino's grandmother and the way each made every possible perfect move at the perfect time, it's hard not to think there was some divine intervention on our side. I would say perhaps Angels in the Outfield...but we're not in Anaheim.
Bring on the Rays, WE GOT NEXT!
*Insert my lame attempt at a Gus Johnson-esque cackle here*
Jim Williams, I'm pretty sure it was along the lines of "The Phils win the pennant". The Harry Kalas call that they aired was a million times better than Joe Buck's call. I got goosebumps listening to him...
Yes tim mccarver how appropriate that the fielder makes a catch.
The Series actually begins Wednesday night, October 22.
Phillies fans have almost a week now to annoy the shit out of everyone.
@gmoney- Better a week of annoying Phillies fans, than four months of whining from Sawx fans if Boston loses tonight.
"hold suit"?
Oh my...
Hold Serve.
Follow Suit.
Pick a side.
We're at war.
Ryan Howard is trading on http://www.oneseason.com. It's like a sports stock market. RHOW has been issued as an Inital Player Offering so he is already trading at higher prices but you can still get in on the ground floor when studs like Chase Utley, Cole Hamels, Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino are issued as IPOs.
That "Best Buy" remark is just another example of how badly Fox needs to overhaul their announcing team...
Thanks, AA!
World Series, here come the Phils!
