When Rioting Goes Wrong

Thursday, October 30, 2008

I've never really understood the whole "riot when your team wins the Championship" thing. I get the partying and drinking in the streets side of it, but I never got the whole destruction of property bit.

Either way though, you can't help but laugh when an entire bus shelter collapses under the weight of celebrating fans....

Rock on Philly! I know it's about out of your system, and no one has been reported as dead....so yeah that's a good thing.

Good, I am glad the idiots got hurt. Philly fans are always 2nd rate.

Guess which team's fans didn't riot, set fires, or loot stores after they won the World Series? Yep..the Cardinals. Even though I've never bought into the "Best Fans in Baseball" crap, at least they knew how to behave afterwards.

Yeah, let's over celebrate a game we had zero to do with the outcome!.....oh wait.

Let's climb a street lamp and break a sign, because the Phillies won!

Win or lose, what will happen next Tuesday night/Wednesday morning will make all these sports riots look like popcorn farts.

I can't believe Chase Utley would try to rip down a sign... He seemed like such a nice guy. I think the term "riot" is a little strong for this video though. For the most part, it's a bunch of drunk fans celebrating, with a few morons that can't handle their booze thrown in. If this was New Years Eve, it would be called a celebration. If it was Detroit, it would be called Wednesday night.

the BEST part is Philly fans are not smart enough to realize they'll pay for all the damage.
you think the bus company is just going to pick up the tab? ride rates will go up.
the city will raise taxes to pay for the extra police patrols.
way to go philly fans! act like idiots so you can lose more of your money. LOL ROFLMAO

What a bunch of idiots. I wonder what the cost in damages, lost work hours etc. will be. As for todays parade, I'm keeping the kids home from school. No way am I letting them on the street with these kind of louts about.

There were people on bus shelters at every corner....only these guys fell. One of the guys was seriously injured. So...yes, it was their own fault, but it was still pretty traumatic for the people involved. Further, the crowd couldn't get enough of it...leaning in to take pictures and video... I want to thank whomever took this video for keeping his/her distance -- it was helpful. Also I am in the video, helping to keep the crowd back...so thanks for making me famous, lol.

LOL "traumatic for the people involved"
did you ever think that people are NOT supposed to climb bus shelters. that they're NOT designed to hold people on the roof. stupid philadelphian! LOL

are you the white ass clown playing a cop and NOT doing anything but looking for a donut shop?

lol. White boys gone wild.

i just dont understand that. it just goes to show the assinine mentality of most sports fans. to me, your team is an extension of your city or metro area. you pull for your team, you care for your city. thats just not in the american psyche.

The funny thing is these will be the first people to complain if an athlete gets in trouble. How many laws are they breaking in this video?
