Rem Dawg Sings All Of Your Holiday Favorites!

Tuesday, December 02, 2008

I have no idea why (or where for that matter) Jerry Remy is singing Christmas carols, but according to Red Sox Monster (via Sawx Heads) he really loves Christmas music and was also not under the influence of alcohol when recording this clip of "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer". Take it away Jerr!

I would love to provide you with more context and background, or perhaps even more wonderful clips like the one above, but apparently it's nowhere to be found as of today. If anyone knows where to pick up the whole album, or has more info to share, please do so in the comments. If not....we'll just continue to enjoy it on its own.

Here is the back story on this...

A few years ago, I'm thinking 2003 or 2004, Jerry Remy had just launched his very own website "The Remy Report". Accordingly, Jerry set out to sell any sort of merchandise he could peddle. This included mugs, baby bibs, books, wally the green monster dolls, scorecards, baseballs, personalized answering machine messages, etc.

For some reason known only to Jerry, his business partner "John", and his family (all heard in these recordings), Jerry decided to unleash "Rem-Dawg and the Pound Puppies". Every few days they would post a new Christmas song with Jerry on lead vocals. This was just the tip of the iceberg, as many other holiday favorites were covered. I hope to God some of the others come out for our enjoyment. They were just too funny.

There's the story.
