"I was a huge Lew Alcindor fan. Even though I grew up in Ohio, UCLA was on tv, read everything about him..." - Clark Kellogg
he probably did read all about him, but there is zero chance that UCLA and Alcindor were televised in Ohio in the late '60s.
"Nice little move by little Larry Drew." - Jim Nantz
"You've got to move that ball quickly and get into your move aggressively... early..." - Clark Kellogg
Quote of the tournament:
"As versatile as baking soda" - Clark Kellogg
.....
"I never imagined that Danny Green could be compared to baking soda." - Jim Nantz
Word verification: roided
Kellogg just compared Danny Green to Baking Soda.
Even Nantz was confused.
The baking soda thing is nice. Don't take any crap from Nantz-y boy, Clark. Well Done.
Bill Rafterty > Clark Kellogg < Billy Packer.
Need I say more?
"He's in position because he's on balance." - Clark Kellogg
Clark Kellogg experiment = fail. He belongs back in the studio.
clark is ok for a saturday matchup in say jan or feb....but he does belong in the studio.....that is where he is excellent....who can we pair with natz....cause natz with the right person could be just down right awesome....i do have to say ive enjoyed nantz more this year....less history lessons without packer too
All quotes from RJBO:
Clark: "I wish I had a basketball, because (Oklahoma) needs to squeeze it."
"Easy being Green." More Clark goodness
Clark: "As my youngest son would say, 'The score is flipped, Dad.'"
"They come right back down your throat" - Clark Kellogg
/juvenile out of context quote
"That's yeast that rises and helium that floats" - Clark Kellogg
"It's yeast that rises and helium that floats." - Clark Kellogg
Although "helium" sounded like "yelium."
looks like everyone beat me to those two quotes.....that must be a new one from CK
"How'bout this? Showing you some YELIUM! That's yeast that rises and helium that floats" - Clark Kellogg
would hate to misquote that one.
"There you see the free throw story. North Carolina perfect, Oklahoma leaving a little lettuce on the line." - Clark Kellogg
i actually liked the baking soda quote...kinda ran with it on facebook
That baking soda quote would be funny...if he didn't use it last year in studio...he might have been talking about Green too.
Forget the basketball game...I'd love to watch Bob Knight through down with Metallica.
Any good garbage cans available on the set?
i guess if tyler hansbrough had received a little more publicity, nantz would know that hansbrough's hometown isn't POP bluff, missouri.
Schedule for Saturday:
* Michigan State-UConn 6:07 PM ET
* Villanova-North Carolina 8:37 PM ET.
And meanwhile, in case anyone forgot about him, Tiger Woods sunk a 20-foot putt on the 72nd hole to win at Bay Hill.
In other more exciting news, Tiger won his first tourney since he came back from his 8 month layoff with the knee surgery. It was an epic finish on the 72nd hole with a 16 footer. Should get that video up, AA.
A. I hate North Carolina with a passion.
B. Screw Tiger Woods.
Nantz probably was more interested in Tiger than basketball. The Final Four should begin this way "Jim Nantz, UConn, goes man-to-man."

There is the Tiger video.
Holy crap. So I just saw the Bob Knight/Coach K/etc Guitar Hero: Metallica commercial on ESPN and oh my god at the awesome! Hahaha.
20 foot putt! no wait...
16 foot putt! no wait...
12 foot putt. Onions! Double Order!
and it wasn't his first tournament back either.
Tiger's accomplishments speak for themselves. Don't fall into the same idiotic realm as the media and start making shit up just to be more hyperbolic.
Yeah, I don't like Clark Kellogg as the Final Four analyst. He's a much better studio guy.
As for who CBS should pair with Nantz ...
I like Len Elmore. He is highly intelligent, played the game at a high level has both the respect of the history of the game as well as keeping with the present. I think his style works very well with Nantz. Moreso than Bill Raftery and Jay Bilas. I like Bilas, but he's a better studio guy too.
I've always been more of a "it should have been Raft instead of Kellogg", but the more I think about it, I'm not sure how well Raft would jive with Nantz. The more I think about it, the more I tend to agree that it should be Elmore with Nantz. He has his setbacks (he can be very monotone), but as far as developing chemistry with Jim Nantz, Elmore would probably be the best option.
'Your shooting percentage goes down significantly when your shot is challenged' - Clark Kellogg
