Guitar Hero Gets A Little Weird With Their Latest Commercial

Monday, March 30, 2009

I had already seen the Guitar Hero: Metallica spot where they tie up Kobe and Co. outside and blow up the house, but this one caught me by surprise. Near the end of the Oklahoma-UNC game, this ad featuring Coach K, Rick Pitno, Roy Williams and Bob Knight, came up on the screen....and yes....they are wearing just their underwear too.

We're playing the Guitar HEEEERO! Disturbing, but very very funny.

Update: Annnnd....here are the outtakes!

Ladies And Gentlemen, Welcome To The Best Guitar Hero Commercial EVER. (Fan IQ)

Jesus, how much did this commercial cost to make? It's not like any of these 8 egomaniacs are doing this for free.

It's a funny commercial.....once you get by the mind-scorching image of 4 old men in their boxers. I have not quite decided if this commercial makes me want to play Guitar Hero or find the nearest trash can, stat!

Should I be nitpicky?

Because Tom Cruise wasn't wearing boxers... he was wearing tighty-whiteys

But then again, who wants to see those guys in tighty-whiteys... unless you have a bottle of eye bleach handy...

And don't get me started how much a prude Kobe was to wear long shorts in his version...

Am I crazy but I think Bob Knight could definitely host a late night show.

Clearly he can read a script and i just find everything he says to be funny.

Even the way he always tell Rece Davis about how nice it was talking to him. To me that's funny.

Give him some good writers and just see what happens. I mean what would you rather watch at 11pm on ESPN2? Poker or Bob Knight?

Do not use in the same sentence "ESPN" and "Late Night". Please don't.
