Matt Lindstrom Doesn't Not Care For Your Posturing, Netherlands

Monday, March 16, 2009

I'm pretty sure USA and the Netherlands aren't really rivals in a lot of things. Sure there's the whole Vegas-Red Light District comparison, and the Edam vs. Cheddar war has raged for years, but that's probably about it. Until now!

Watching the ball after a homerun is always frowned upon in Baseball, and especially if you're doing so when down seven runs. That's exactly what Netherlands player, Bryan Engelhardt, did following an 8th inning blast, and the States were none too happy about it. That's when U.S. Pitcher, Matt Lindstrom decided to almost start an international incident by throwing at the next Dutch batter.....

Thankfully (or not thankfully) cooler heads prevailed, and no punches were thrown or other batters hit. Oh and the Americans eliminated the "Darling Dutch" from the Classic, so take that Holland!

I think we should pull the piece of bubble gum out of the dyke for that!

Side note - word verification was "flogise" is that the generic verision of the shit for enlargred prostate problems?

So here's the question I have - as the WBC is an MLB-sponsored event, do transgressions committed within the event lead to disciplinary action for a MLB player when they return to their team? Say Lindstrom actually hit the guy intentionally or a fight broke out where punches were thrown - would the transgressors be subject to MLB penalty during the regular season?

Kind of a little bitch, Cutler-esque move by Lindstrom there... You're winning, you just got jacked big time, so what did your feelings get hurt?

Shouldn't Lindstrom be playing for the Swedish team anyway with that name?

Lindstrom should know better than to mess with a team featuring Randall Simon. Just ask one of the sausage race guys.

Wow, the WBC is really exciting. That has to be why so many people showed up to watch the game.

My verification word was cleherp. Is that a new designer STD?

So let me get this straight, a pitcher gets upset in baseball because a player 'jacks' one over the wall and takes a few seconds to watch? So he then throws a fast ball at the next batter to retaliate? Get over it, you got owned on one pitch. Try throwing the guy out next time he's up....

Nothing strikes fear into someone's heart as "And here come the Dutch."
