Gatorade is apparently sponsoring a movie about Soccer, and it looks to be pretty entertaining (if not JUST like Bend it like Beckham). The company plans on advertising the production on it's 15-bottle packages, and will add an instructional DVD with Mia Hamm and others.
That's not the best part. Producing and starring in the feature is Melrose Place's own Billy Campbell Andrew Shue (in the pink shirt)!!! The stellar actor who's been in some of the best movies of all time (Karate Kid, Vision Quest, and uhhh American Shaolin) wrote the movie based on his childhood experiences.
The $10 million movie, based on experiences of the Shue family growing up in New Jersey, follows a girl in her quest to join a competitive all-male soccer team after the death of her brother, its star player. It's rated PG-13 for "brief sexual content."Ummm, PG-13 has sexual content now??? Kids are growing up so fast these days. If you were too young for Melrose Place just think Desperate Housewives mixed with the OC.
(P.S.- The movie will also star another 80s favorite

I wish....I'd pay for a pirated copy if he was.
Macchio's about 50 by now - it wouldn't have the same run that it would when he was getting his ass kicked by "Sweep the Leg," Johnny Lawrence.
Instead, I suggest Dustin Diamond, formerly "Screech" in Saved By the Bell. He looks like quite a few European soccer players...
Wait...who did Andrew Shue play in Karate Kid?
He was a Cobra Kai extra. He has about 2 secs of screen time.
Dustin Diamond was unavailable.
Hosting the Woody's conflicted with shooting dates.
Is Mia Hamm part of the "brief sexual content"?
All I can remember from today was "Elizabeth Shue" and "brief sexual contact." Is that weird?
does ralph macchio have a part too?
