NBA Draft Day Excitement: Open Thread

Thursday, June 26, 2008

There's nothing else really going on in the Sports Media department so I'm just going take this spot to add any draft day items and post another mock draft. I have nothing to do but watch Soccer and count down to live-blog and the Bulls going on the clock.

Our First Item:

Yi to the Nets for Richard Jefferson!!!!

The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed in principle to trade Yi Jianlian to the New Jersey Nets for Richard Jefferson, two league sources told SI.com.

The Bucks also are sending Bobby Simmons to the Nets. He has $20.5 million left on a contract that expires in the summer of 2010, when LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh could become free agents.
Well that's interesting isn't it? Add that to Jermaine O'Neal moving to the Raptors and we've got two pretty big moves. That doesn't mean that Toronto and Milwaukee aren't being idiotic for making these trades though. We're one step closer to LB23 coming to the East Coast.

Or we're a step closer to Michael Redd being sent to Cleveland...

If the Bucks take Alexander or Gordon, that creates a bit of a logjam at the 2/3, no???

According to espn.com: Seattle(No.4overall) plans to swap with the Clippers(No.7) if O.J. Mayo is drafted No.3. If he's not selected at No.3, the deal is off.

AA, am I the only one thinking ESPN is totally on drugs for letting Adrian Healey, and not Derek Rae, work with Andy Gray in the final?

They've been together the whole Tournament though. They rarely break up teams like that. Both Rae and Healey are fine though.

However, Rae worked with Gray twice and he has more experience than Healey with title matches.

Hey AA, I'm of the mind that the Wizards are just spinning their wheels here. They're JUST good enough to make the playoffs year after year but nowhere near good enough to win a title. At the same time they're TOO good to get any decent draft picks but not good enough talent wise to make any helpful trades. It's what I'd like to call an "NBA Rut." What (if anything) do you think the Wiz can do in this draft to contend, or are we in for another painful season of mediocrity?

Will LeBron meet Michael Redd at the airport this time instead of Eric Snow?
