This Is Probably Not The Way You Want To Block A David Beckham Kick

Obviously most of the world was watching the Euro 2008 Final yesterday, but the MLS had a contest earlier in the day as well, and there was some exciting nut shot action right from the start!
I had no idea that pouring water down your pants helped you feel better after taking a shot in the balls. Good to know. Also, I pray that I'm never in the position of taking a shot like that on a cross from David Beckham. Good lord.

It was either water or that spray stuff they use
probably a good decision to go with the water

OK so not only do you have to deal with the pain (and multiple replays) of getting hit in the nuts, now you've got to walk off the field looking like you wet yourself. That's pretty much the definition of "adding insult to injury" isn't it?

I like the grin Beckham had on his face at the end of that, looks like he was impressed and amused at the same time.

Ouch. I bet that hurt.
There was a nut shot in the Euro game as well. Right at the beginning of the 51st minute Carlos Marchena kicked Miroslav Klose in the balls as they were going for the ball. Healey and Gray didn't say anything about it, but there's a good replay that distinctly shows sharp cleat to ball action.
