Stu Scott Pulls The Plug On Mike Breen
Friday, June 13, 2008
So after watching Kobe talk about taking 20 shots at the press conference I was just milling around ESPN when a very odd thing happened. Stu Scott threw it to Mike Breen for the announcer's thoughts on Game Four and apparently Breen wasn't the least bit ready. Stu Scott then blames and unplugged cord for the technically difficulties and everyone chuckled....everyone but Breen.
I honestly don't know if Scott really did throw things off, or if he was just taking one for the team with the wire line. It looked like Breen was on point there and then it just broke down, and he did not appear happy.
It's not really that big of a deal, but still funny. It could also be one of those pre-tapping issues that ESPN has been going through as of late. Good times!

Definite pre-taping issue. Looks like they went to the wrong cue on the tape, and Stu and the boys had to tapdance while they found the right one.
Bingo, Shaggy's got it right.
I figured that's what it was and good lord that's been happening a lot lately.
Judging by Breen's pissed off face, and how all three of them stop smiling at the same time, I'd say a producer was in their ears telling them to stop and start over.
I saw this live last night and thought "that'll be on AA in the morning." Good stuff, AA.
At least he handled it better than this guy:

This is probably what Mike heard..."Go Mike...hold it, bust it guys, sorry, we have a problem in the truck."
The guy who got screwed over slightly here was Stu Scott, although he didn't have to make that big a deal out of it.
Nobody messes with Evil Mike Breen.
