Def Leppard Disrespects The Sacred Stanley Cup
Friday, October 10, 2008
Ahh, hockey. Where else would you find a clip of Def Leppard playing a concert on Versus, having members of the Red Wings bring the Stanley Cup on stage, and the lead singer subsequently placing the thing on a podium upside down?
Rock! The years of drugs have probably destroyed Joe Elliot's brain cells, but seriously....who would ever think that a trophy would go little side down? Hell, the thing has names written all over it. You'd think that would have been a clue.

Wow....hockey is not off to a good start this year. There's this and the fact that Sarah Palin is dropping the ceremonial first puck at the Flyers opening game on Saturday. In Philadelphia!!! I do hope Ed Snider realizes it is more than likely that she will be booed out of the building...
That whole concert thing was a frigging joke in the first place.
I'm kind of surprised they didn't boo when he put the cup upside down on the stand. I know I would have...what an idiot.
Armageddon It!
If a trophy was shaped in some form of Y, I might put it little side down - just look at the Ryder Cup. But if one side is flat, and the other is open, here's a hint: the flat side goes down.
If you put the Stanley Cup upside down, it looks kinda like a drinking goblet.
The worse part about the whole Sarah Palin thing is that people go to her rallies wearing NHL hockey jerseys because she is a hockey mom.
