Bruce Pearl's Strip Tease Excites Brent Musburger
Friday, March 06, 2009
If you've been watching Thursday Knight Basketball recently (that's seriously what ESPN is calling it), you may have noticed the wonderful chemistry that is developing between Brent Musburger and Bob Knight. It's no Lavinburger, but it's still entertaining. Especially when someone like Bruce Pearl gets mad at his team and decides to sport just a white t-shirt....
Wow. Someone needs to tell Musburger, that evil laugh at the end might scare the kids watching. Seriously though, the pair is growing on me. While they're certainly unorthodox, Musburger is making the broadcasts fun and Knight is making them interesting.

Someone tell Knight he doesn't have to ask politely for every replay.
It's nice to Brent still keeps his habit of drinking before football games to the basketball court.
If ESPN steals the NCAA Tournament, I think these two are calling the Final Four. I think ESPN is trying, if Knight sticks with them, to groom him as the new Billy Packer.
Musberger, Knight, and Lavin are huge jokes. Actually don't show up at the games, they have prerecorded their remarks which are dubbed into the soundtracks. This is because they don't care what teams are playing and their remarks are ill-relevant to what is happening on the court. I really don't care with whom they have dinner, or what teams are in their final four - they aren't on the committee. (Please break the news to all of them gently, please!) As I love college basketball, I cringe when I have to watch a game on ESPN. The only thing that makes a game on ESPN bearable is the "mute" button on the remote.
I hope that Rick Majerus doesn't find this to be a good idea.
