NBC Kicks Off Their Hockey Season With An On-Air Fight About Fights

Monday, January 19, 2009

I completely forgot about the start of NBC's Hockey season this past Sunday, but lucky for me, OSG, I've got a clip to share. Pierre McGuire and Mike Milbury had a debate about fighting that seemed to last the length of the entire game. Here's your clip....

Wow. At times it seemed like fake anger, but when Milbury called McGuire a "flower child", I thought Pierre was going to drop him. It would have made Milbury's point, but I think it would have been worth it.

Anyone named Pierre is likely against violence. GO JACKETS!

I would much prefer players to use their hands instead of their sticks. Keep fighting in and stop discussing the "debate"

It sells a sport that is in dire need of selling. It's also a pretty stupid way of selling a sport that is need of selling.

If fighting were taken out of hockey, it would definitley increase the amount of cheap shots with (hockey) sticks.

"I don't see any fighting majors on the board."

Well, if players from both team are sent off for fighting, the penalties would cancel and they would not be posted.

Milbury was a member of the 70s Big Bad Bruins and played for Don Cherry.

Of course, he is pro fighting.
