The Australian Open Turned Into A "WWE Hardcore Match" Overnight
Friday, January 23, 2009
Now this isn't something you see everyday at Tennis tournament. The Australian Open turned into quite a seen today as kids of Bosnian and Serbian descent decided to take out their differences with lawn chairs following a match between Serbian Novak Djokovic and Bosnian Amer Delic. Here is the chair-throwing goodness....
Now as serious as tensions are between those two groups, could a fight get any lamer? I mean, standing on the other side of a little garden and throwing plastic chairs? They really could have settled their differences with Nerf guns and/or laser tag. Preferably laser tag.

I'm sure the person how got belted in face with the first chair REALLY thought this was a really lame fight, huh?
BY GAWD! BY GAWD! THAT PERSON IS OUT! WHAT A SLOBBERKNOCKER OF A CHAIR SHOT! THEY STOMPED A MUDHOLE IN HIM AND WALKED IT DRY!
Frank Francisco approves.
Now usually, I would tell them to Stay Classy. However, in a genteel sport as tennis, and the tensions between the two countries involved, I was speechless.
This was not funny at all.
@ JamesCraven: It was more of the lameness of the fight, not the actual fight itself, that was funny.
It seems the best response to having a chair thrown at you wouldn't be to send your attacker more ammunition. Just accept the chair as a gift, and sit on it.
WWE would shake their heads at that. That wasn't even remotely close to a wrestling match, haha, which goes to show how lame of a fight this was.
