Eagles Make It Interesting, But It's Not Enough To Stop Arizona's Trip To Tampa
Sunday, January 18, 2009
The Arizona Cardinals are going to the Super Bowl! Read that again please. The f'ing Buzzsaw that is the Cards is going to Tampa. The Eagles made a valiant effort after a terrible first half to take the lead, but Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald and Tim Hightower, were just too much for Philly's D in the end....
Just an amazing second half and congratulations to the Cardinals for making it to a Super Bowl for the first time since they moved to Arizona. Great effort by the Eagles to make it a game, but this offense is just flat out exciting to watch and will be a tough opponent on February 1st.
Final: Cardinals 32 - Eagles 25

I found it interesting that Joe Buck came right out of the box in AZ with a "We're excited to be here" comment. Even a "Wow" for the anthem!!! He had to have read the bloggers/MSM killing him for his "Joe Ice" shtick. Still, when the game started, he was back to practically flatline. Aikman tried to ratchet up his own torpid pulse by doing some heavy McNabb bashing but then had to eat it when the QB rallied the Eagles bigtime. In their defense, it must have been the first Cardinals game they've done this year (or ever.) Norman Chad says Cardinals fans never get Fox's A-team - they should count themselves fortunate.
The best part is no more Buck.
The [second] best part is no more Buck.
FTFY...
@ Mike Raffone: Fox's A-Team actually has been in Glendale twice this year. Once was when Buck was doing the World Series and Dick Stockton subsequently sat along side Aikman. However, Buck and Aikman did do the Vikings-Cardinals game in early December, if I recall correctly.
JFein - thanks for the correction.
I'm an Eagles fan, but congratulations are in order for the Cardinals. They played their hearts out in one hell of a football game that won't be soon forgotten.
