Former Coach And CBS Analyst Pete Gillen Is Depressing

Wednesday, March 26, 2008

Pete Gillen is a regular contributor to the NY Post's Tournament Section come March Madness. The former coach and CSTV Analyst (now College Sports Network) was previewing the Sweet Sixteen when he decided to throw this in for the heck of it.....

WELL, even though Georgetown is gone, three of my Final Four teams are alive - which is unusual. I've had a bad decade - I got fired, no friends, no money, no clothes. But since I'm due, I'll take a look at the Sweet 16:
I agree with the Realests when they say, "Self-deprecating humor is great when you're Conan O'Brien, but it's different when you're Pete Gillen." Seriously. Step back from the ledge Mr. Gillen. You can take solace in the fact that Dave Leitao isn't doing that much better at UVA since you left.

Oh god, the image of Pete Gillen sans clothes just jumped into my head. Damn you, AA!

Ah, but Leitao hasn't had the talent to work with(other than JR Reynolds and Sean Singletary) that Gillen had. I listened to most of the games over the first two rounds, so I got to hear Gillen a lot. He really had it in for the referees, in particular, Hank Nichols' son(I believe his name is Jeff).

AA, aren't you just fed up with ESPN's highlight reel of Bob Knight? And then at the end it says when he'll be back.. I'm sick of that!!!

Pete Gillen looks blitzed in that picture. Maybe that's why he has nothing left in his life...he let the alcoholism win.

Either Gillen has a huge head, or he's standing 4 steps in front of Blackburn.

Leitao isn't doing that much better? UVa was co-champs of the ACC last year...

Well it was a joke, but we can compare.

Gillen: 5 post season tournament appearances in 7 years (4NIT, 1NCAA)

Leitao: 2 post season tournament appearances in 3 years (The CBI doesn't count)

I will say that Leitao does have a pretty good recruiting class coming in though.
