Don Cherry Does Not Like The Ruuttu Brothers

Wednesday, December 26, 2007

I know Chris Simon got suspended for trying to cut one of the Brothers with his skate, but I'm not quite sure why Don Cherry hates them so much....

My favorite part of the whole thing is how Cherry says he has to be careful with what he says and then goes into a tirade about how Jarkko deserved to be stepped on by Chris Simon.

"Those guys asked for it and they got it. First of all I want to talk about Simon and kids out there there's no excuse, he broke the code. You never do anything like that, ever ever do anything like that. But you can understand it somehow."- Don Cherry

The Ruutuus are Europeans, right? Doesn't Cherry think Europeans are pussies? QED.

I kind of agree with him. The Ruutuus are fucking bastards. But they know that in today's NHL, you can antagonize like crazy and they throw out massive fines for retaliation.

No way was he trying to injure him on that play, he barely touched him on a fucking padded skate.

That said, Simon is a fuckin psycho and deserved it from a standpoint of historical behavior.

It cracked me up with Simon got 30 games for that, and back in 1996 Claude Lemieux got 2 fucking games for breaking Kris Draper's face.

I find his wardrobe choices more disturbing than his thoughts.
