Bob Ley Loves Him Some Starship
Saturday, February 23, 2008
Ladies and gentleman, Bob Ley brings you highlights from 1988's Championship Week set to music from the best band ever. Starship!
Whatever happened to ESPN? We used to get great montages like this set to beautiful music and now we get the Ultimate Highlight set to whatever Linkin Park clone is hot at the moment. Ah Memories.
Oh and try to get that song out of your head the rest of the day.
(Thanks to ZS for sending the clip along)

I'd have guessed 1988 myself.
Looks like it is 1988, since at the tail end of the clip, it shows UT-Chattanooga winning the Southern Conference, with the help of Lance Fulse, who made the all-tournament team in 1988.
It's 88...I'm dyslexic.
In their defense they did an awesome video after the Pats lost. I watched it like six time on SC over the next few days and still couldn't get enough.
What happened to ESPN ?
"Houston the egos have landed."
I don't care what anybody says when the WWL had the opening round of the tourney, it was awesome. From noon to midnight, there was never a break. CBS would then have a midnight game. I would sit on my arse for 14 hours feeling like I was a fat kid with an endless supply of Big Mac's. I had class in the morning, buy a case right after and then gorge myself with Bell's Pizza(you have to guess where that is). Life was good :)
What happened to ESPN? The 80's ended that's what happened to ESPN grampa.
Was that Berman doing the voice-over for the last few seconds? He sounded amazingly like a professional...Ah the good old days -- when SportsCenter mattered...
Wow, that is a flashback. John Thompson was coaching and Michigan was good. The one thing from the 80's WE DON'T NEED are short shorts.
1998? Really?
