Digger Is Mad As Hell

Saturday, February 23, 2008

I'm not quite sure why Digger Phelps is THAT pissed about this, but I think he's definitely right. The quartet is discussing how some of the Indiana players skipped out on practice yesterday and what new coach Dan Dakich should do about it. Digger had already said that he would have benched DJ White when the fireworks start....

He almost looked ready to walk off set by the time Hubert Davis started laughing at him. Deep breaths Digger....deep breaths.

Digger Phelps is among the most obnoxious, annoying analysts in any sport on any network. From his ridiculous 'my highlighter always matches my tie!' schtick to his over-reacting to any minor thing, he's a tired old man who needs to go.

I'm with Digger on this(God, that hurt). No practice, no play. No negotiation.

I'm also with Digger. Loyalty to your coach is one thing, but Sampson was fired/resigned because of his own major mistakes. That the players can't make the distinction is ridiculous.

Hubert and Bilas were way off, but I was really hoping to see Digger deck Hubert during the free-throw segment later on.

At least Bilas presented his arguments in a reasonable manner. Hubert resorted to the "deny like a five year old" defense.

it's sad to think there's idiot who like the highlighter (even though the cap NEVER comes off proving he doesn't use it)
same with corso's brand new pencil which is never sharpened, proving he doesn't use it and he OWNS part of the company. wouldn't you want your sheep to at least THINK that you use it?

I agree with Digger.
Show the kids the door and tell them that they are more than welcome to follow their beloved coach to the parking lot.

That was funny:

Jay Bilas: Indiana mishandled it since October, etc, etc, etc,

I've come to expect ESPN to be hopelessly lacking in their journalistic duties, but even the talking heads are spouting off incorrectly:

Bilas: IU self-reported to the NCAA in October. That's where their compliance office was, dealing with the NCAA.

Digger: YOUR EMPLOYER and every other media outlet created a damn circus at AH when there never was any official word from IU about a press conference. High profile players stayed away from afternoon practice because of YOU - but participated fully in a walk-through that evening.

Oh, and DJ White had the flu all week.

Digger and Bilas are both wrong here.

Digger said he kicked a kid off his tea for missing the bus? That's why you're maxing on the sidelines and not coaching anymore Digger. Any man who intentional matches his highlighter to his tie is superficial and should not be taken seriously

I didnt really see the same fireworks AA saw here. At all. Just a few guys discussing a topic. I was expecting more.

Im with Digger on this. He's absolutely correct.

And then right after that, Hubert Davis hit a ridiculous 25 footer with a hand in his face.
