David Stern Cannot Stand Homer Announcers Either
Wednesday, March 05, 2008
One of the biggest pet peeves I have is when local announcers just go above and beyond the acceptable level of Homerism. It's not as bad in the NBA as other leagues, but David Stern seems to think so....
"Some night you should watch the same game on the two telecasts."- David Stern
That's hilarious. I love how he just jumps all over the guy right away.

Seriously...when did he get a sense of humor?
Where were the homer police during the Suns-Spurs series last season?
Homer broadcasts are terrible for sports. One spot ahead of Joe Buck though.
Does cannot?
Ha, I thought I might have been the only one that heard Stern say Greg Oden was 11. You can kind of lose that with his droll monotone.
Now, can Stern pop over to San Diego and give the same lecture to Matt V.?
I just love how Stern comes right out and calls the announcers "homers." In other news, Greg Oden is now 11?!
I can't wait for shithead stern to leave the NBA. His leadership almost worse than Bettman's in the NHL. The game hasn't been growing at all this decade. The rules he has been enforcing are beyond asinine.
Stern should keep a closer eye on his Refs and not on the broadcasters. Homers will be ridiculed by the local audience. That's not his job.
Anyone who thinks NBA players have no use for steroids or HGH gets an A+ in my book.
Keeping running the league into the ground Stern, your doing a great job.
The fact that you posted this blog is pretty hilarious to me. I hadn't read it when I wrote this blog on March 11:

Stern was calling out the Blazer announcers on their homerism, and he hit the nail right on the head -- that crew is the worst in the whole league.
Greg Oden is 11? Did I just hear that right. That was quite the odd comment. Hilarious and unexpected from the commish.
