Gus is fun, as always, but how does Marquette not run any screens to get a shooter loose on that final play?!
A b-ball Pammie nominee...
At the 3:40 mark:
Clark- "If it's a 3 point cushion, does Marquette foul?"
Gus- "That's a question."
WHAT!? Yes, it was Gus, thank you.
Please put Gus on the number one crew. If he doesn't get you excited about college hoops, you don't have a soul. If you're gonna give me crappy announcers, at least give me one who actually cares and shows some excietment during the game.
Just as long as there's no insufferably snooze-inducing James Brown on the call for the Regionals on CBS this year.
Too bad they won't dump Jim Nantz - that guy is a sleeping pill.
CBS had a great start to March. A 1-point comeback win, an overtime thriller, and a 3 point upset that went down to the wire.
I wish the "20 Nonsensical Ramblings By Dick Vitale" or whatever came back, AA. Now every week, he has to get a Gisele Bundchen reference in and I don't know if it was him or Dan Shulman, but one of them said Michael Beasley likes 'SpongeBob Squarepants.' Huh?
Sign during KU-KState game: Erin Andrews loves the hardwood
bow down.. it's march and gus is getting started. he's god
Can we start some sort of petition to get Gus on ESPN.
ESPN.com is finally asking us the most important question on Earth: Is America Yankees Country or is it Red Sox Naation?
SportsNation is designed by guys from NYC/Boston for people from NYC/Boston.
Could CBS at least give us 2 audio feeds and a choice of Gus/Anyone or Nantz/Packer?
Ok, Gus Johnson is amazing, but everyone that is complaining about other announcers putting them to sleep or being a "sleeping pill" needs to shut up. First of all, if you can't be interested in or excited about a game without announcers than you are not a real sports fan. Also, not every announcer is the in your face, screaming at the top of your lungs emotional type. Others are more of a story teller/ narrator for what is going on, and there is nothing wrong with that.
yesterday was an awesome day of basketball and today is becoming just as good
@ken:
No one is saying that every announcer has to be Gus Johnson (it would be rather annoying to have everyone sound the same). At least I wasn't. Not every announcer I like is in the screaming mold (besides Gus, I like Ron Franklin, Sean McDonough, Kevin Harlan and Brad Nessler). With my specific example of James Brown in last year's Regionals, he wasn't a story teller or narrator, he just seemed lost doing PbP and it reflected in how he sounded; unenthusiastic and listless.
is there a post on this espn disney crap? i keep flipping past and seeing people in disney suits sitting with espn announcers. espn has nothing to do with sports anymore. its become what mtv became to music circa 2001
big game for our terps tonite AA, very big game.
To echo what was said above, what a basketball weekend. Three nail biters on Saturday on CBS, not to mention the Pitt/Syracuse finish on ESPN. Then today a great finish in the SEC between UK/Tennessee at noon and a tight finish in Tucson between UCLA and Arizona, not to mention the great NBA game on ABC between the Mavs and Lakers. Great weekend of games
Also, Valpo-Wright State (noon, ESPN2, Saturday) went to overtime and was decided on a 3-point play with 1.6 seconds left. Plus the DePaul-UConn women's finish.
Tim & Mike on the Maryland-Clemson game about Boomer Esiason:
Tim: "Boomer Esiason in the crowds, former alum, now makes his living with his mouth and has done well with it, I might add."
Mike: "Very well."
Tim: "Yes, Indeed."
Probably worth looking for the video, if you can find it.

I hope there aren't any razor blades in your house. Was that a 12 point lead that evaporated?
In the great words of Steve Buckhantz, "Dagger!"
That is how my heart feels right now. AA I completely understand if you have to take a day off of posting. I don't think I will be able to go to work tomorrow.
I'm alive and seething. Just unbelievable. I'll be here tomorrow after I cry myself to sleep.
The twerps will be lucky to make the NIT (we're no 66 !) at this point.
Maybe if the idiot AD will wise up and fire the coasting coaches (Williams and Friedgen) they might actually win games. Williams won his title and is cruising along toward retirement.
At least I didn't have to endure mike patrick and dukie v.
"EWING TO HIBBARD, HE LAYS IT UP AND IN. GEORGETOWN LEADS 2-0 THIS IS THE SINGLE GREATEST GAME IN THE HISTORY OF BASKETBALL. OH MY GOD! I'M ABOUT to PISS MYSELF!" Settle down Gus ya jackass.
Anyone know if the College Basketball Invitational (the supposed rival to the NIT) is supposed to happen still? I mean, I know AA would live-blog Game 1 of the Maryland-Wagner best-of-three "Championship Series" on CSTV March 31. Right?
this is an awesome site! I would love to be added to your friends of aa list and i would like to add your site to my blog role. let me know!!! great site!

At least anon 11:24 knows his college basketball. It's Hibbert. HIBBERT. Probably the same tool from the first post.
Gus is out west next two weeks according to his site: USC/Zona next week then the Pac-10 title game the following week.
Gus Johnson is ridiculous. He may be a good person, but he's too over the top. Calm down. He tries to make every big play into the next "Do you believe in miracles".
I call Gus Johnson Maxwell Mouth because he gives you an instant headache. Please Gus, SHUTUP
