ESPN Finally Puts A Studio Team Together For NBA's Opening Night, Sort Of
Tuesday, October 23, 2007
From Sports Media Watch via DBS Forums comes the fabulous rumor that ESPN has decided on a studio team for it's NBA coverage starting October 31st. That's right folks, it's the worst team ever assembled! Smith, Scott, and Walton!!!
The biggest question I have is....Where's Legs? I know he is looking for a contract extension and I hope that has nothing to do with this team being formed. This could quite possibly go down as the oddest and most ridiculous pairing of individuals ever. I don't mind Bill Walton as much as I used to, but paired with those jokers this could be a trainwreck every night! I look forward to it ESPN!!!
Here's is also the list of announcing teams for the first few games of the season via DBS Forums....

Wow, are we really gonna see Stephen A. Smith with Walton? I really hope Walton says something like "PLAY THE GAME" to Smith and punches him in the face.
Thanks. I forgot for a minute why I don't watch the NBA. ESPN or not.
I didn't think it was physically possible but this studio team both sucks and blows.
Is Dan Shulman leaving college hoops behind or is he just working the NBA gig until the NCAA season tips off?
I really hope Shulman isn't leaving college basketball. But he's scheduled for a game on 11/30 and he normally works the preseason NIT with Dickie V, which ends the 23rd I believe. I kinda doubt he's going to be doing both at the same time.
I actually think Walton is great. Cheetos Smith does nothing for me. Neither does One Eye.
Mike Breen and Jeff Van Gundy is a pretty awesome announcing duo. Please don't let Mark Jackson near them.
Where's Greg Anthony?
Oh God, why hast thou forsaken our NBA coverage?
