That's It I'm Moving To Canada!

Thursday, October 25, 2007

Via reader WC from Canada comes the most depressing news of the day. They have a better Health Care system than us, and now they've rid themselves of Joe Buck. Seriously.....

Rogers Sportsnet has picked up the MLB International feed for the World Series. Why is this so good? No Buck and McCarver! I was ready to watch the game with the sound off and the radio turned up to listen to Morgan/Miller when I realized I didn't have to listen to those 2 ass clowns call another Red Sox game. The International feed uses ESPN's Dave O'Brien and Rick Sutcliffe which is 10 times better than the Fox clowns.
O'Brien and Sutcliffe isn't THAT much better, but WC is right.....I would take them over Tim and Joe in a heartbeat. Plus there's the added bonus that Rick Sutcliffe could do the broadcast hammered. Dammit Canada! As if you couldn't hate those Canucks even more. They've bested us once again. I'm telling you to keep your eye on them Michigan.

Screw it.....I'm moving to Saskatoon and becoming a Saskatchewan Roughriders fan.

(Thanks to WC for sending that in.)

I wish I had something creative to say but all I can think of is...I'm really getting tired of Joe Buck.

better as in Free? because there is just free shit in the world... nobody pays for it. And this being free makes the doctors perform better? Because doctors are perfect to begin with... This will go on my Awful, Awful Announcing comments blog as a top 5 pick.

The Roughriders play in Regina but still plenty of fans in Saskatoon.

Does that mean you'll post about hockey now, once in a while?

Better health care?

Better tell that to the Canadians who come to the US for care because they can't get it in Canuckistan.

Eh.

Quit your bitching, AA. If you didn't have FOX, how would you know what a "spike curveball" was???

I'm sorry but the poster loses all credibility with me when he says he was actually going to listen to Morgan/Miller.

And Rick Drunkcliffe is NOT better than Tim I'm afraid.

My favorite part was when McCarver nocticed Torrealba shaking his head before giving the signals, and immediately announced that Jimenez was throwing a fastball.
The resulting pitch was clearly a changup, with McCarver clearly noticing both the downward break on the ball and the 83 mph on the pitch. He then proceeds to see the replay of the pitch he told us would be a fastball and say, "Yep...fastball." It's like Dana Perino is his spokesperson or something. He's outwardly lying now. It just warms the heart.
I decided while watching the game last night (using horrible puns en lieu of an actual scouting report, talking to the COO of Taco Bell during the middle of a game, showing the preview to '24' on a fucking blimp) that Fox baseball coverage is just what this country wants from its media: all fluff, no actual points being made, thus nobody has to think about anything. I am definitely stupider from having watched that.
Oh, and watching the Rockies hitters having the worst approaches at the plate didn't help.

At least us Denverites still have the Broncos...

DAMMIT ALL!

hey hollywood waggot, I'm an American living in Canada and yes, they DO have way better health care. Sure, some rich Canadians go the the U.S. for their surgeries, as do the rich from other countries. but for the 95% of the rest of us, Canada is light years ahead of the pathetic miasma of America. Don't believe the Fox News lies.

I'm curious. Does Joe Buck masturbate to Troy Tulowitzki before or after he announces the game? Or both?

Apart from the freakishly large forehead that an Airbus A380 could land on, it's Buck's voice that makes me lunge for the mute button. It's that fake-sincere tone he uses that drives me nuts.

I've only heard about it, but I'm still searching for a clip of when Buck was on Leno. Rod Stewart was the previous guest. Buck held up his wedding ring from his new marriage and the crowd applauded. Rod the Mod: "But I thought you were gay". Cue flummoxed Buck saying something like "No, I'm straight, I just got married". Rod the Mod: "That doesn't mean anything".
