Your NFL Announcing Schedule Week Eight
Wednesday, October 24, 2007
So Gus and Steve-O are back this week after a well deserved break and guess where they get sent? To the AFC East as the Bills take on the Jets! They probably don't even have to do game prep for these contests anymore. Also, Matt Vasgersian got bumped from the London game for Thom Brennamen....that's gotta stink. Well maybe not....who wants to go to London to cover that crappy game?
Well here are the rest of you crews and where they'll be for Week Eight brought to you by YOUR Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders!

And Gus is in BUFFALO! As the bills take on the JETS!
Great. I get to listen to Randy Cross. It is likely my IQ will drop several points over the course of that game.
Can I just point out that Thom Brennaman was supposed to be the 'voice of the Big Ten Network' for football...and he's already missed 3 or 4 weekends this year?
It's almost as if he refuses to announce any game which does not feature a couple of half way decent teams
Alright!!! Troy Aikman getting to talk about Brandon Lloyd!!!
I tell you what. This whole season has been bad game after bad game (or mediocre game after mediocre game).
Outside of the New England/Dallas game and the upcoming New England/Indianapolis game, has there been a game between week 2 and now that anybody has been crazy about?
This is the unwanted, undesired effect of NFL parity.
Fox has an interesting choice next week. Do they send Aikman to a bad, East Coast, Redskins/Jets game, or do they go to Kansas City for Chiefs/Packers?
Or maybe Carolina/Tennessee?
Or Seattle/Cleveland? The Browns may be 4-3 after next week!
I'm not completely down with NFL rules anymore, but I think Cleveland will be shafted on next week's New England/Indianapolis game too.
Have you checked the coverage maps? http://www.the506.com/nflmaps/2007-08-CBS.html
There are lots of things that seem weird.
For example, why does Utah get the Steelers/Bengals game, but everybody around them gets the Raiders?
Why does Chicago get Jacksonville/Tampa Bay?
And why does the DFW area not get the Texans like the rest of the state and even southern Oklahoma? Is that a Jerry Jones thing?
This stuff confuses me.
It confuses everyone Anon....I don't think there's a rhyme or reason to any of it.
Also, I bet Troy goes to KC for Brett Favre Mania!
awful announcing i believe you hit it right on the nose, some sources say buck/aikman will get the packers vs chiefs
See, that's why I get paid the big bucks, er zero dollars to do this site.
Hmm, Nantz and Simms get the Pats-Colts game. Never would've guessed that.
I hope Marshawn Lynch scores a TD while pushing a defender in. That way Gus Johnson can bust out the "PILEDRIVER" comment he made in week 1 against Denver.
Shit. I was hoping to get Gus and Steve at Detroit; instead, they get sentenced to oblivion (opposite the Pats and Colts). At least we get the white Gus in Harlan. RIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES!!!!!!!
anon, I believe Chicago gets the Jacksonville/Tampa for this reason:
When the hometown team has a home game on the doubleheader network (ie the Bears on FOX this week), the other network can't air a game opposite it, so CBS has to show a 4:00 game.
come on gus should of gotten another bills game to help my television pleasures & what would gus say when ocho cinco scores a td
Thankfully I don't need to hear Brennaman, as I'll be at the game.
I want to know how Brennaman has gone from being an occasional 7th team guy to being on the #2 crew in a historic overseas matchup?

Can Houston and Oakland petition CBS to not show their game in Week 9 so the entire country gets the Brady/Manning Suckfest
