And We Thought Our Friends Ward And Spielman Were Done For The Year (Silly Us)
Friday, December 07, 2007
I was pretty resigned to the fact that we weren't going to get any more Pam Ward action the rest of the year. It was a sad moment for me when the MAC Championship game came to an end and don't even bring up Chris Spielman's appearance on the sidelines for the Big XII game. I got pretty choked up there.
But alas, it appears we have at least one more opportunity to see both Pam and Chris in action! Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you the announcers for the Semifinals of College Football's Championship Subdivision (1AA Playoffs)......
Friday, December 7th- Richmond vs. Appalachian State, ESPN2 8pm
Play by Play: Sean McDonough
Analyst: Chris Spielman
Saturday, December 8th- Delaware vs. Southern Illinois, ESPN 4pm
Play by Play: Pam Ward
Analyst: Ray Bentley
Huzzah ESPN! I don't know if you plan to use them for any Bowl Games, but for one weekend you have made me happy. Christmas has indeed come early. For your next trick I would like you to pair them together for the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsetta Bowl.

Yeah I saw that on Outside the Lines and watched the end of that game. Delaware's QB seemed like a dick, but that kid can throw the ball.
They should do a bowl game.
Get this, Ward AND Speilman did the Music City Bowl in 2003 (Auburn-Wisconsin)
Good News. ESPN has posted their announcers for next weeks football championship game coverage and here goes.
Div I: Sean McDonough and Chris Spielman
Div II: Dave Pasch, Andre Ware, and Holly Rowe
Div III: Pam Ward and Ray Bentley
Im a Delaware grad and a pal of Pearlman's he is absolutely right about the blatant racism shown by lily white Delaware against Del State. (You should have seen the amount of cops on the Del State side during the playoff game this year)
Anyway this is my first experience with Pam and Ray and let me tell you Ray Bentely is f'in horrible..shes okay I have heard worse.....
Pam sounds better since her testicles dropped in '05...
One of the most overlooked sports stories of the year, mainly because it was about a lower level of college football:
ESPN columnist Jeff Perlman writes a column basically throwing Delaware under the bus and accusing them of racism because they won't play Delaware State.

Then, what do you know? The playoff brackets come out, and Delaware is playing Delaware State! On ESPN!
(by the way, Delaware did win 44-7)
But don't tell me that ESPN had no input on that game being scheduled.
