The ACC Tournament Has One Of The Oddest Sponsors Ever

Friday, March 14, 2008

I've heard musical artists promote stuff during College Tournaments before but I've never seen an entire tourney promoted by one song. On top of that they have to do individual spots for that specific song throughout the day. ON TOP OF THAT....it's a song by Lil' Mama....

That just blew my mind. One song is sponsoring the whole ACC Tournament locally. Absolutely hilarious. Oh and yes that was ex-UNC player Jason Capel with the breakdown.

Shawty get loose!

That explains the start of the MD /BC last night I was wondering what was going on. Is this only on the Raycom Broadcasts ?.

An Artist named Lil Mama(especially wearing a Brooklyn Hat) isnt exactly target demographic in some of ACC country.

I especially enjoyed the reaction of the kid in the photo wearing the Texas shirt. That pretty much sums up everyone's feelings watching the broadcast.

Why does every tournament now need a "theme song" or "pep talk" loosely tied about how it all leads up to this, anyway?

Just start the game at 1:00 - not 1:05, not 1:08, not 1:12, not 1:15 -- and stop going Frank TV on us so you can get paid!

Only if it's an Erin Andrews pep talk. Speaking of that, a quick moment of silence since the OSU-MSU game is the last one EA is doing the sidelines for...isn't it? At least until baseball season. She interviewed Drew Neitzel, who looked like he ran a marathon, and she told him at the end "We need you to get hydrated for tomorrow."

On the far right, that blonde has a fantastic Cleav-bomb showing.

Thank you.

An Erin Andrews pep talk is fine with me -- I don't want to get kicked off of here. I was talking about the guy who walks down the street/bridge/bank of the water, talking about how we've been playing basketball, but now it's time to take it up a notch, because it's postseason time and only one team will be left standing, sprinkled with team logos, game footage, host city shots, etc. throughout his speech. I just couldn't come up with a better term for it.

@paco:

"You want reality TV? Cause here it is" before every Big East Tourney game? I agree that's an overused intro. ESPN's also playing that Kanye West song to death, almost every other TV timeout.
