Audio Highlights From Mike And The Mad Dog's Call Of Georgetown-Villanova

Friday, March 14, 2008

I cannot thank reader Ben M. enough for sending me clip after clip from Mike and the Mad Dog's call of the Georgetown-Villanova game yesterday. This is by far the most hilarious collection of clips I have ever put together. Enjoy!

Just amazing. The trainwreck quotient before this game was probably set at a solid 8 out of 10, but they surpassed that a million times over. Good times.

My Personal Favorites:

"Another three by Wallace, that's his first" (Umm okay?)
"Villanova down by nine has the pumpkin" (I will not make fun of this one...Pumpkin is now the ball's official name)
"Always in the top of the country, Field Goals, defensive defense." (Pass)
"It's a 30, so we won't go anywhere. Thank you there my pal."
"Now this game is a 40-37 start." (I think that was in the 2nd half)
"That was offensive pass inter...offensive goal tending." (Pass)
"West Virginia to follow in the afternoon night cap." (Afternoon Night Cap?)
"Hibbert can't even believe it, he's shaking his heads." (He's like a Hydra really)
"Let's be honest this game's over. This isn't TV so we're not going to try and keep you watching." (Honesty is always the best policy)
"He's got Doc Rivers, John Thomspon Senior, and Ewing." (What?)

I haven't seen the Hoyas play in about a week so maybe Hibbert did grow a second head...

What's really sad is Mad Dog saying toward the beginning of the clip...

" and I haven't done a college basketball game in quite a long time..."

Gee..Dog...then maybe you should do a few St. Anthony's games before doing some big boy basketball...They no longer use those peach baskets...

Who let this 2 dopes into Madison Square Garden? IT would not hurt Mike and Dog to do a little homework before doing this games.

Me and you (AA) would be better than these 2 clowns.
Ok, for some reason I like abuse. I am listening to them right now, they are talking about what is the big story on the 31st of March.
Um hello? Who cares.
Wow. They truly are idiots.
It's funny that they think Yankees vs Rays and Mets vs Marlins are bigger than the Final Four.
I also think it's funny that they think Mets vs Braves will be bigger than the championship game the next weekend.
Now they are bashing the selection shows...saying its' too many people talking (what about their radio show for the insomniac?)

Well, they're right about the selection shows. What's the need for 735 people(yeah, I know; it's an exaggeration) discussing the Austin Peay/Georgetown match-up)? Just let us know who got in and then shut the hell up(yeah, I'm looking at you, Packer).

earlier in the day, they were makng fun of all the technical problems they had yesterday. I know when I got off work at like 4:30, there was seemingly 15 minutes of commercials, perhaps due to the feed being down.

what a trainwreck, i tuned in for a few minutes to hear the UCONN score. Everytime Mike referenced West Virginia, he referred to them as Cincinnati.

Well, Tubby didn't lie when he said (around 4:20 in) "This Dog, this was an atrocious showing."

Amen, brother. Amen.
