Mike Francesa Is Not Happy With This Jim Guy

Monday, March 10, 2008

See this is why webcams are a bad idea. Mike and the Mad Dog were talking about the Yankees (I'm just guessing really) when all of a sudden Francesa gets distracted. Apparently a guy named Eddie is being picked up on-air and an engineer named Jim decides to stick up for him. Via Watchdog...

I'm just guessing here, but Jim might be out of a job today. My favorite part is the stare down near the end. I wouldn't mess with him.

Mike Francesa stares down 'Jim,' YouTube fun ensues (Watchdog)

Mike held it together relatively well. Berman would've probably kicked Jim's arse.

Jim seemed unable to grasp the concept Mike was expressing. The stare down was impressive.

Berman wouldnt have done anything especially since this is live tv that mike and chris are on. The stare down was great. Mike definitely cursed him out during the break, which was longer than usual.

What a clown (not Jim, Mike). Did that whole exchange need to go down like that, or was Mike playing tough guy again?

Dude, you're a radio host, no one is going to be intimidated by you, no matter how much you give them the 'evil eye'.

Eddie would be their producer Eddie Ericson. Jim would be their remote engineer Jim Pierce - who barely is able to perform his job properly - especially at that building - for some reason he can never seem to figure out the wiring in that place. I've worked with him there on half a dozen occassions and didnt make it on the air properly with the ISDN lines anytime. Twice we called the first portion of the game using an old rotary telephone and once on a vector board utilizing a telephone line.

I wonder what Francesa's kids are going to think of their dad when they become old enough to surf the Net. They might decide to Google dear old dad and find out how many people, in all walks of life, think their father is a pompous, self-righteous, racist blowhard. On the other hand, they probably already know that.
