About The Kenny Smith Jumping The Car Video
Thursday, April 24, 2008
Everyone is buzzing today about this hilarious clip of Kenny Smith trying to emulate Kobe's (fake) car jumping clip for Nike. There's only one problem with the whole thing.....TNT stole the idea. A very similar video was created for You Tube and circulated the web almost two weeks ago had Kobe himself getting mowed over by the car. Let's compare.....
I think it would have been 100x more funny if they showed Kobe the one where he gets hit by the car. Don't get me wrong the Kenny one was entertaining and funny as well, but they acted like they just came up with the idea. Come on guys. Although the Ernie Johnson part was really really funny.

It was an extremely obvious idea. Getting run over by a car is not a joke that can be stolen anymore.
Also, TNT did a terrific job with it. The slow motion replay of Ernie took it to another level.
I agree with Joel.
The left-over shoe was hilarious!
Okay okay....you're all right. The Ernie part was hilarious. They took an idea and made it better.
I think they should try this for real with Joey Gathright.
You know, there are about a billion videos on YouTube, give or take a million.
Just because Video A exists doesn't mean the creator of Video B saw it and decided to rip it off.
I'm not saying TNT didn't steal the joke. But it's not out of the realm of possibility that TNT never saw the previous video, and people who are paid to create comedy thought Kenny getting hit by a car was funny.
ROFL
No, this was definitely funnier !!
