Your NFL Divisonal Playoff Games Announcing Schedule

Monday, January 05, 2009

Well that was a fun little Wildcard Weekend, now wasn't it? A handful of close games, and a defensive gem, is all you can really ask for. Hopefully next weekend's games are just as good. Here's your announcing schedule for the Divisional contests....

Saturday, January 10th

Baltimore Ravens at Tennessee Titans (CBS, 4:30pm)- Greg Gumbel, Dan Dierdorf
Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers (FOX, 8:15pm)- Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston and Tony Siragusa

Sunday, January 11th

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants (FOX, 1pm)- Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Pam Oliver
San Diego Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers (CBS, 4:45pm)- Jim Nantz, Phil Simms

10 Comments:

It's kind of sad when Dan Dierdorf is a member of the best announcing crew of the four that are covering these games ........

Can Fox broadcast a playoff/bowl game without Chris Myers on the sidelines?

I agree with Gregg,

Greg Gumbel and Dan Diedorf are better then Jim Nantz and Phil Simms....

I like Joe and Troy...

For some reason Chris Myers just has to be apart of every sideline playoff or championship game on FOX...

He is apart of the World Series Team, FOX NFL playoff team, and the BCS National Championship game!

And if Fox had the 2nd half of the NASCAR season Myers would be giving away their championship too...

I hate Kenny, Moose and Goose or whatever their names are. They awful, but for some reason they do a lot big games on Fox. The main reason is most likely that Joe and Troy are traveling with the Cowboys over half of the season. They also did the Orange Bowl game. Why??? They are awful and sucked at announcing college football, well, that is the entire BCS on Fox. Do you ever realize that Tony never seems to wear a suit? He is probably too fat to find one.

Im not a Ravens fan, but they are getting kind of shafted here.

San Diego plays a Sat. game and has an extra day of rest for Pitt.

The Ravens play Sunday and have a short week to get ready for Tennessee..

Oh well.

Personally, I'd rather hear Dick Stockton and Baldinger over Albert/Moose/Fatso any day of the week.

It's INCREDIBLE that guys like KENNY ALBERT and GREG GUMBEL always get the big games when you have MUCH BETTER announcers like
DICK ENDBERG and DICK STOCTON not getting the call? WHAT THE HELL?
KENNY-FROG-EYES-NO-NECK ALBERT!
WHERE THE HELL IS DICK ENDBERG?
This guy is so easy to take with such a nice smooth delivery...
IDIOTS run these networks!

Today's San Diego vs Pittsburgh Game ...

I have enjoyed pre and post commentaries regarding the NFL Playoff games; however, today, while watching San Diego vs Pittsburgh on TSN with commentary from Phil Simms and Jim Nantz, I became dismayed with their unprofessional conduct when they began speaking about "next week's" game between Pittsburgh and Baltimore with 6 minutes left to go in the game. With 4 minutes left in today's game, statistics for the Baltimore and Pittsburgh game was shown on my TV screen.

In my opinion, there is lack of sportsmanship when fans "leave a game early"; similarily, the announcers today demonstrated such behaviour.

When team players are giving their "personal best" to the very end of a game, they deserve recognition by sports announcers. That is SPORTSMANSHIP at its best and I EXPECT NO LESS from professionals.
