Kirk Herbstreit Did Not Have A Good Weekend
Monday, December 03, 2007
We all know now about Kirk's Miles source. He stands by it, and I have no reason to doubt him. It was still an odd Saturday for him and ESPN, and it appears Sunday wasn't that much better.
On ESPN's Bowl Selection Show Kirk made a point during the program that sounded familiar. He was talking about the merits of winning and not winning your Conference Championship and how that relates to a National Title shot. He said Georgia and Kansas didn't deserve to be in based on that factor. Funny, that's not what you said last year...
I know the Big Ten doesn't have a Championship game, but it still has a Champion. I also know it's tough to remember things when you spew out Sports information 24-7. Hell, I probably said I liked Gary Danielson at one point (I did? Damn.), but that's a pretty egregious error there. Hmm, egregious...that word was used a lot this weekend wasn't it?

Given Herbie's OSU affiliation, I'm sure he hollered at some big time booster at Michigan.
No less than the UM pres or AD should be a reliable source on this topic.
his team backed into the national championship game, he had a great weekend
How old is that picture? Nick Lachey has a wedding ring on.
This is a bit nit picky, Kansas and Georgia didn't even make their championship games meanwhile teams in their own conference with similar resumes did and won.
The Michigan Florida scenario was highly highly different than this years scenario with regards to attempting to lay claim that UGA was more deserved of LSU or Kansas more deserved of Oklahoma. Teams in their own conference which won.
I disagree. Any weekend is a good weekend if you aren't photographed next to Nick Lachey.
I went to a major journalism school. I was told that you NEVER ran with a story unless it was verfied by a second source. And if the story was really incredulous or controversial, you'd better have a third source just in case.
I'm pretty sure that these standards don't apply at the Worldwide Leader in Sports.
