ESPN Asks YouTube To Remove Berman Vids And They Comply
Wednesday, February 13, 2008
Goodbye Ampex2000 and the Chris Berman vids. ESPN contacted YouTube yesterday afternoon to remove the clips and the video sharing site has responded with their removal. From Scott's Shots via SBD....
ESPN VP/PR Josh Krulewitz, in an e-mail, indicated that ESPN has "contacted YouTube and asked that the videos" of Chris Berman off-air on the set of "MNF" be removed from the site. Krulewitz, said, "We routinely request content to be taken down from YouTube and did in this case. The copyright is owned by our company." He added the videos are "now nearly a decade old and do not reflect [Berman's] typical workplace demeanor"And with that the videos are gone and more than likely Ampex2000's YouTube account is gone for good (you can just sign up for another one Ampex). I honestly can't believe that they didn't take this approach sooner. They probably could have stopped videos #2-6 from ever hitting the Internet, but I'm glad they didn't

Yeah, I mean honestly, do they think this is going to stop them from being seen, or reposted?
Lame.
This has been the most press Berman's gotten in 20 years, and he wants it gone?
Thank god I saved them to my PC
Some real goobers comment here, huh?
Couldn't Leitch keep them up as newsworthy? He has the Gawker Media Empire behind him. They stood up to Cruise over the scientology video.
I can't believe that no one cares that he is smuggling drugs from Canada, that is illegal and the amount he is talking about is probably enough to be charged with a felony, I'm sure a lot of people do this but that doesn't make it right.
Fortunately for Berman, now that the videos have been removed from YouTube, they will no longer appear on the internet.
