Whoooo! I now know how I'm spending my afternoon!!! It's that time of the year folks! The time that I don't know the WNBA Draft is coming on until a randomly surf by it changing channels!!!! All the Stars are out for this momentous occasion and I'll be live-blogging the whole thing*.
ESPN2 will televise live the first round of the 2008 WNBA Draft presented by adidas Wednesday, April 9, at 1 p.m. Pam Ward will host the one-hour telecast, from Palm Harbor, Fla., with analysts Doris Burke, Carolyn Peck and Nancy Lieberman and reporter Rebecca Lobo.So if you're near a TV right now and you want to watch teams such as the Lynx, the Monarchs, and the Dream draft players you've probably never heard of....then by all means turn it to ESPN2.

*- There's no way in hell I would ever do this and/or subject you to that.

Maybe they could do a lead in with an Indigo Girls concert, or maybe a Melissa Etheridge/Paula Cole double bill.
Big Syl is absolutely ROCKIN' that hat!
With the first pick of the WNBA Draft, the New York Knicks select Candace Parker.
The NFL Draft is 17 days away!
Pam Ward, bitch.
It should be illegal for females to play basketball. Stick to the cooking, girls.
good god it was televised?
why didn't they bury it on espn360.com or espn u?
by the way -- who's candace parker?
Anon, Candace Parker was the one who got to make out with EA after being the first one picked.
I watched the entire first round and enjoyed it. I just wish that I had ESPNU so I could have watched the rest of it.
Didn't Lobo and Leslie play AGAINST each other like 10 years ago? Why is Lobo out of the league and Leslie still going strong? Another UCONN waste.
Because Rebecca Lobo didn't "have flash" :)
Lobo fucking sucks and always got hurt. And Candace Parker is hot.
Playing NBA is so nice.
When she was picked Candace Parker leaned over and kissed her boyfriend, Shelden Williams.
Here's what I liked about the draft, 2 minutes between picks.
It was selection, tearful walkup, awkward handshake, awkward photo, awkward interview, 30 seconds of analysis followed by another selection.
We wouldn't have to put up with Stephen A. Smith if the NBA Draft was like this.

Translation: If we could hire the Undertaker to bury this crap even deeper, we would, but we can't so it's on at 1pm. And we know you nor anyone else gives a flying fuck, but that's the deal.
