Buckeyes Hate Musburger Like the Rest of Us

Friday, January 12, 2007

So I was flipping through the The Big Lead's Roundup like I do every morning and noticed a gem. BuckeyeXtra recently put up a poll asking "Which college football announcer / analyst irritates you most?" The results were pretty obvious, but the best part is the comments each submitter added.

The Results:

10% Lee Corso
4% Lou Holtz
19% Mark May
47% Brent Musburger
21% Someone else (tell us who)

Some of the Comment Highlights:
"Brent is the worst. He never shuts up. Guess he figures we'd rather hear him babbling on instead of just watching the games. Wish he'd get fired."

"Without question MESSburger! Why do those guys think they have to fill every second of air time with their chatter! Half of it is "who cares" info anyway."

"It's not just Ohio Sate fans that dislike this guy! I am a Seminole fan, I cannot stand him! It really makes it difficult to watch any game when he narrates, so much so, that the volume goes mute and the radio comes on so that I can listen to another announcer. Last year during a football game near Atlanta, he is still announcing (talking about) the little league world series, that is his marvelous superiors delegated him to do. They should let him announce on the front lines in Iraq!"

"THINK before opening your mouth Brent. Are you adding anything? Would anybody be interested in what you have to say. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. the more mistakes you make, the more convinced your listeners are that you are a non-entity talking to hear himself talk. LESS IS MORE!! A great adage for you to remember Brent."
The best part is that this survey started in October! There are thousands of these. So while I normally can't stand the Buckeye Nation....I'm with them on this one. Damn, first Dickie V and now Ohio State......What is happening to me? Anywho, enjoy the live-blogs this weekend. I'll try to stop by as much as I can.

Schedule:

The psychotic Brian from One More Dying Quail will bring you both the Indy/Baltimore and Philly/N.O. games.

Sam T is back for his second game after killing the NYG/PHI game. He's on the early game.....SEA/CHI at 1pm on Sunday.

And rounding out the weekend is Signal to Noise. The Patriots and Chargers will never be the same.

Lou Holtz was behind Musberger, May, and Corso? Not that those other guys are world-beaters... but it's Lou Holtz?!?
