Get the MASN feed of this moment -- nice, simple call by Bob Carpenter: "This ball is history!" with a solid tone and pitch.

Hank is class.

Maybe as classy as San Diego.

But not St. Louis.

Where was Joe Morgan?

Fin.

On MASN's feed, the sideline reporter (Debbie Taylor) was interviewing Bacsik -- at the very moment the Nationals were scoring the tying to take him off the hook. You should've seen his smile.

Bonds should be thanking Glavine as well for helping to stonewall the commissioner all of those years as Player Representative when he wanted to test the players for drugs.

Thanks, Tom!

How lucky are we that Dave O'Brien called the game tonight and NOT Chris Berman?

Could you imagine how painful that would be, in so many ways?

"Son, I ain't gonna hug you NOW at home plate. This is MY time! Go away."

Apparently, Bacsik's father pitched against Hank Aaron, after Aaron hit 755. Think about the increadibly strange coincidence that would have occurred had his dad given up a home run to Aaron. The Elias Sports Bureau would have exploded just from that.

a little known fact about hank aaron he had the individual all time h.r. record 755 and w/ his brother tommie the all time h.r. record w/ a sibling at 768..so, bonds only holds the one record not both...so i would conclude that aaron is still h.r. king by holding the other record w/ his brother... and no steroids have to be brought up...

Willie Mays made the night for me with his glasses on forehead look. Priceless!!!

I call bullshit on the cockblocking of his son at home. Nikolai wanted a moment with his father, Barry wanted one with his. Deep down, we're all kids.

And Willie's glasses/forehead were great, especially when he was searching for a mic to no avail

Tecmo,

I'm calling bullshit on your calling bullshit on Barry at home plate.

Now go back to your room and listen to "Cat's in the Cradle" and have a good cry.

P.S. Willie was hilarious, though. See him yell at the guy? "GIVE ME THE MIKE!! WHERE'S THE MIKE??"

If we acknowledge Oh's home runs, we acknowledge that the Japanese league is equal to ours.

And I'll be damned if I do that.

I was disappointed. I fully expected Barry to cross the plate, pull off a rubber mask and unzip a mansuit a la Scooby Doo and reveal Joe Morgan.
