College Football Week #1 Announcing Teams!!!

Monday, August 27, 2007

Kudos need to go out to reader and tipster extraordinaire SS for this masterpiece. Our friend took the time (it may or may not have something to do with his job) to compile the pairings for every major network's set of games AND those on FSN, ESPNU, CSTV, VS, and The Big Ten Network!!! That my friends is awesome.

Per usual...cross your fingers, and find your favorite team/current school/alma mater and hope for the best!

A few things stand out. First and foremost......Colin Cowherd with Chris Spielman is the Perfect (S**t) Storm. Guess who's going out late on Friday night! Second, Pam and Mike have been told to go to separate corners. That kinda makes me sad. And third.....SURPRISE! Larry Coker got a Miami game!!! Who would have guessed it.

Leave your initial reactions in the comments, and I'll see you Thursday for the Opening Live-Blog of the season! Tulsa at UL-Monroe!!!!!!!

(Just kidding....it's LSU-MSU)

Clay: Boy, Miami sure seems to have a lot more speed than in recent years. Larry?

Coker: (crickets)

Clay: Miami seems incredibly prepared and disciplined this year. Larry your thoughts?

Coker: (crickets)

Should be entertaining.

Keyshawn on Countdown...SUPPOSEBLY.

Jeezis H.

I like Speilman, he's a maniac, and is borderline insane when talking about hitting.

Gotta like a guy that gets fired up...

Who did UAB and Michigan St. piss off to get Pam Ward assigned to their game?

Speilman is great. I remember during the 2005 Purdue/Minnesota game, he was screaming, "THAT'S BIG 10 FOOTBALL, I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL!" :D He's awesome, his enthusiasm is unmatched when he gets into it.

I'm excited to see Larry Coker in the booth. I hope it goes well for him.

And, AA, I'll guarantee you that UL Monroe/Tulsa will be worth your time more than LSU/Mississippi State. The Bulldogs will get slaughtered while the War Hawks have a legit shot to upset Tulsa. You know, they've got the offensive firepower to keep pace since their defense is horrible. Watch out for Calvin Dawson, Kinsmon Lancaster, and LaGregory Sapp! :)

Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit got the Tennessee/California game. Looks like three hours of hearing how great the Big 10 is.

Paul Maguire just won't die, will he? I remember they even stuck him up in a crane on the sidelines for one game last year to get him out of the booth!

Crankfest 2007!!

Can't believe they've kept the Dan Fouts/Tim Brant "experiment" going. It just sounds atrocious to have what amounts to two analysts in the booth.

Why is Tom Hammond not doing the Notre Dame game? Is Bob Papa permanent?

Looks like Thorne's off the Tulsa/ULM game. The scheduled sideline reporter, Dave LaMont, is listed as the pbp guy now.

Tom Hammond is in Japan covering Track and Field apparently even NBC thinks ND is going to suck this year. The worst part is that Bob Papa is an ND alum so Pat Haden might jump out of the booth by halftime.

For the love of god, here's hoping Chris Fowler can corral Craig James or at least keep James' yeeeeehaw guffawing and tangent-lassoing to a minimum. I say that only because I fully expect Doug Flutie to continue being completely devoid of any discernible personality.
