The Dan Patrick Goodbye Tour Is Underway

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

It looks like Dan Patrick is finishing out his last days at the Leader beginning today. It will be a 3 Day whirlwind of all things "Big Show" and hopefully "Ron" Dibble will be involved. I don't expect anything crazy to happen, but you never know.

In related news TBL uncovered Dan's new website and blog. He's got a a new logo (pictured), and a bunch of fancy videos. Here's his take on why he left ESPN and what's in tap for the future (hope he's not upset I'm "borrowing it").

You have to respect a man for trying a different path and taking a chance. I think ESPN might be in for a lot of this thinking from its older statesman.....DP is just the tip of the iceberg.

The new show starts in September, and as an added bonus it appears that Colin Cowherd turned down the replacement gig. Hello Mike Tirico (that's who I'm putting my money on)!

If DP's the tip of the iceburg re: the old guard being put out to pasture, to which god should I pray to make certain Berman is next?

Good riddance. Let ESPN stations - like the one in Portland - do their local programming in his time slot.
