I Completely Understand How You Feel Adam Dunn

Thursday, August 02, 2007

From AZ Sports Hub via Fanhouse comes this hilarious quote from Adam Dunn on not being traded and The Brennamans.

While he's happy to still be a Red, he says wait until September 1st when he'll be just about fed up with the media telling him he's already gone....

"It bothers my mom more than me," Dunn said. "My family hates the Brennamans (broadcasters Marty and Thom) and Jeff Brantley. If George Grande and Chris Welsh aren't doing the television games, they won't watch. That's sad."
Ha....I love that he just threw in Brantley for good measure. Amen Adam...Amen. If T(h)om tells me one more time why a National League Team "bunts in this situation because the pitcher bats in this league", I'm coming through the TV for you Brenda.

Thom and Marty do suck, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Dunn sucks. Maybe he should get better so that his parents don't have to hear the nasty things the B Boys say about him.

And I'm not even a Reds fan.

does any other franchise promote their announcers like the Reds do? I've heard they have a Brennemania billboard.

No one has a poorer product on the field...

Why would anyone watch a Reds game?

I went to the Cards/Reds a few weeks ago.

It must have been announcer appreciation night, announcers applauding announcers...

At one point THom got upset that he was on the field and the pa was a few seconds behind him, he started whining about how he couldn't go on...

God, that guy's a douche. And Brantley, could anyone have a more forced voice?

Tell you what though, the women product in Kentuckinatti is impressive for such a dirtbag town.

We could not get something to eat at 10PM downtown. Bars close early too.

I watched the Reds game where the announcers kept saying it was Dunn's last at-bat as a Red. Apparently they were wrong.

Marty and Thom tell it like it is. Whether it be good or bad. No sugar coating going on here. Some listeners want a softer approach, unable to accept the reality of the situation. Don't blame the announcers for describing an awful Reds team. If Adam strikes out, (which he does all too often) or muffs a routine play in left, they will tell the listener the way it is. If he smashes a HR they will describe that in vivid detail as well. Some folks have ears that are a bit too sensitive. Marty is in the clubhouse every day to face the players if they have a problem with him. The fact is he speaks the truth and is fair. The players need to work more on their skills if the want to hear more positive descriptions of their play. Marty is a HOF and Thom will be. So to all the Brennaman haters, turn off the radio and listen to George Grande on Fox Sports Ohio. He's a nice guy that will never offend you, and rarely ever calls anyone out for poor play. Apparently just what you are looking for. As for me, a life long Reds fan, give it to me straight.

When coming to this site, I found myself quiet confussed when I discovered that the Braves announcers were not featured at the very top. Even if they were featured here on a daily basis. One of many reasons that most people that I know hate them so, other than Bobby "The wife-beater" Cox, or Larry "Chipper" Jones.
Everytime that I have tried to watch them, its like watching amateur night at the mic. It doesn't get any more pathetic than that.
