Actual (paraphrased) quote from Fox's Eric Karros today during the late innings of the Red Sox-Orioles game:
"This Baltimore team, they really make you get all 27 outs to beat them."
That is tied for first in the majors in the "Outs Required To Win A Regulation Baseball Game" category.
I understand what Karros was trying to say. The Orioles are a "scrappy" bunch of overachievers that plays hard and don't give up if they are trailing late in the game. Good for them. But the words sounded odd when he said them, like there are other teams that are not required to record 27 outs in order to win. And that thought is just out and out silliness.

Can't FOX find a good analyst who was actually a good PLAYER for an extended period of time? (not Joe Morgan)
I guess the answer is no.

In my view, as good as the Yankees were in the first half of this game, that's how as bad they've been now.

Yeah, he probably meant that the Red Sox only require 19 outs to beat. Thanks for this.
