Lou Holtz' Inspirational Speeches Are Driving Me Nuts

Friday, September 14, 2007

I can't tell you how many times over I would rather watch a ten year old kid tell me about the NFL than listen to one word Lou Holtz has to say. First of all, I can't understand you at all. Now some might think that's because of his lisp, but that's not the case at all. The dude is as old as dirt and old people talking to me about Sports is like a someone blowing a dog whistle in my ear. I'm not hearing it. Second, how dare you bash and institution like Track and Field. As anyone who regularly reads the site knows, I was at one point a D-1 runner and you sir are messing with the wrong group of people! We will throw you down that mound that every College thinks they have cleverly named "Kill Hill" and we will run roughshod over your old ass with plastic spikes!

Sorry....I'm good now. In this latest installment he gives Nebraska a pep talk and actually creates a clever little accronym, WIN.....What's Important Now......(shoot me in the faeth)

"LOU HOLTZ FOR PRETHEDENT!"

It pains me to have to embed ESPN video, but this has to be seen and stopped.

"Yes, that sequence of words I just said made perfect sense."

If Holtz is Professor Farnsworth, does that make Mark May = Hermes? Rece Davis = Bender or Fry? Of course Pam Ward is Leela.

If you pitched up Lou's voice, it would sound just like Brak.

Did you hear the one last week where he said (paraphrasing):

"Gentlemen, things will go wrong in your life...for instance your wife will probably leave you and run off with a drummer..but for now we're all here and we will all have the memory of today!"

MacArthur couldn't have said it better.

How that gimp ever roused anyone to follow him into battle I will never understand...
