Monday Night Football Week #2 Live-Blog: Washington at Philly 3rd Quarter

Monday, September 17, 2007

Does Tony Kornheiser really need to leave the booth early for PTI at the Half? Seems like zero prep would be needed for that.

"Stay in school knuckleheads!"- Tony Kornheiser
"Respect your elders you punks!- Michael Wilbon

What kids are they yelling at that are up this late?

"Damn, Berman's using more hair slop than Clooney used in "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?""- Anon

10:29- Start of the third quarter and Jaws shows us that McNabb's receivers aren't giving him any help.

Suzy tells us that Philly looks dejected (and I'm just fine with that), and that Kevin Kolb was they only player trying to get people in the game (I'm fine with that too).

3 and out after a no call on Shawn Springs and the Skins get the ball early. Randle El gives the Skins the ball at the 14. Chuck in the booth after the break!

10:33- Chuck Daddy in the booth! First guest of the year folks.....

"We don't want to talk about Auburn right now."- CB
"It was you or Christian Slater....good to have you back."- MT

Campbell picks up a third and short and another on a 12 yard run. False start on first down and the Skins are going backwards.....Incomplete pass on second down. Santana drops another pass and the Skins will punt. Frost hits a 54 yarder and it's Eagle ball at their own 13.

"I made the all-star team and they booed the hell out of me."- CB on Philly Fans

"That guy from "The Daily Show" is punting for the Eagles?"- Anon

Man, no one is left except for Anons tonight.....I love you, but I think I'm in for a long night.

10:43- Shawn Springs forces a fumble that isn't even close to a fumble, and the refs give the Skins the ball. It will be coming back to Philly soon enough.

"I told them I wanted help, and Shaq was coming out in the draft....they drafted Charles Shackleford."- CB

3rd and 4 for the Eagles and the Redskins finally get a sack. People may notice the sack, but the coverage forced that. Charles is staying in the booth for a third segment, and this is the point where an all-right thing becomes too much. Give it up....let's move on with the game.

"It's a yawner? Come on! This is NFC East "smash-mouth" football at its finest! It's the best division in football! They deserve a national audience and the #1 announcing crew every week! This is so much better than those crappy NFC West matchups."- Anon

I stand corrected.

10:51- Two great runs for Portis picks up 22 yards, and a 2nd a three bubble screen to Moss nets a first down. Portis takes the ball to the right and goes to throw, but makes a great decision to pull it down and pick up 8. No yards for Ladell and a timeout by Washington.

The booth is arguing about Belichick and I'm tuning it out.....

False start on the Skins which is actually a good thing as they would have been stuffed on the play....3rd and 7....Incomplete pass and Suisham comes on for the Field Goal. It's belted down the middle.....

13-6 Skins

Damn Charles Barkley is going to be in the booth for the whole 3rd quarter?!?!

11:03- McNabb overthrows Reggie Brown on first, but picks up a limping first down on a 10 yard run. Another 10 yard run for Westbrook and the Skins defense is moving backwards.

McNabb hits Baskett and the fairweather Eagles fans decide to wake up. Andy Reid also starts to hit Westbrook with short passes and screens something they should have been doing all game.

3rd and long and McNabb doesn't find anyone but Westbrook for a three yard pass. Field Goal time for the Eagles. Hey a score!!!!!!

13-9 Skins.

It's funny to watch Chuck lead the conversation. This is much, much better than watching the usual celebrity interview with the same boring, scripted questions and forced banter.- Anon

Agreed, but he's been in there a bit too long.

TNT is really wasting Sir Charles' talent in the studio, they need to move him to games, this is gold.- Phil

They actually did this last year Phil.....it was awesome!

11:11- Beautiful screen pass by the Skins and we're off to the fourth. I'll see you in a new thread!

Women's Team USA is playing Nigeria?

What's Nigeria's strategy? Offer the team millions of dollars that once belonged to the coach's uncle--a former military general--if they give them their bank account numbers?

Barkley wonders why he got booed when he was an 8-time all-star in Philadelphia.

Probably because it's a team sport, and the Sixers sucked.

The "I asked for Shaq and I got Charles Shackleford" comment was damn funny. I don't care who you are.

Man people bolted at halftime of this yawner. Thanks for sticking around folks.

Sep 17, 2007, 10:42:00 PM

I just took a dip in the pool and hot tub...but I don't blame those that bolted. Again, where's the Cards and 49ers when you need them?

"I felt like we already had a good backup quarterback in Joe Pisarcik."--Jaws on his playing days in Philly.

I just wanted to point out that this is the first time that the phrases "good quarterback" and "Joe Pisarcik" have ever been used in the same sentence.

Charles Barkley lecturing ESPN on how the Philly media is powerful and tells the people how to think.

He's telling people who work for ESPN about this.

Now I've seen it all.
