Announcing rule #1- If you don't know the rules of the sport you are covering you probably shouldn't be covering it.

I know some sports have iffy rules, but doesn't everyone in the world know that once your knee is down in College Football the play is over? Well not Michael Reghi. Here he is discussing a challenged touchdown with Doug Chapman.....

How many times does Chapman try to tell and he STILL tries to say the guy was down by contact. I would want to strangle him by then if I was Doug. Reghi is the ex-O's play by play guy, and I think it might be time to head back to baseball.

Aww, poor Michael Reghi. He did the play-by-play for the Cavs for many a years, even before LeBron got there for Fox Sports Ohio.

He came up with "flight 23." Then got fired by Gilbert when he brought his own guy in. I didn't know he also did baseball for the O's.

He's a classic guy, I miss him.

Did you catch Mike Patrick during OT of the Bama/UGA game? The biggest non sequitur in the history of non sequiturs. After Bama scores a FG we are waiting for the UGA offense to take the field and Patrick lets out this gem "What is Britney doing with her life?" Todd Blackledge was like "Britney who?" "Spears!" answers Patrick again repeating the question "what is she doing with her life?" Blackledge is even more confused than before and thinking that he may have missed something asks "Is she here?"

You have to see that man. Hopefully you TiVoed it.

Uh, I'm not sure what you're talking about by ripping on this guy. He got the call right. I think you're wrong on critiquing him here.

Uh, no he didn't. Even after his analyst told him 14 times that there is no down by contact in College he still says it in the end. Watch it again.

Michael Reghi is a warm breeze on a cool day. His skills are very much old school that the new class of color announcers have tried hard to get away from. The problem is, people forget the days when the sport was enjoyable and the players gave all they had and left it on the court, without being paid exorbitant and inflated salaries. Reghi's style is from the blacktop courts on a sweltering summer day in Detroit back in the '70s. He brings a sense of enjoyment to the fans that has long been buried by the arrogance of today's prototypical NBA crybaby. As fans of the game, we should appreciate Reghi's flare for the dramatic because the guys on the court haven't worked as hard as him in quite sometime!
