ESPN's E:60 Adds Some Guy Named Simmons

Thursday, October 11, 2007

I think when the story first broke that ESPN was doing News Magazine type show Bill Simmons name was linked to it, but for some reason when ESPN released the information on the show they left him out of it. Until today. ESPN announced (in a separate release) that Simmons will be a "special" contibutor for the show.

Makes sense and hopefully he can add something to the show. Especially for those who read his columns. Oh I forgot one thing......via MDS at Fanhouse comes the greatest part of all....he'll be their Andy Rooney!

"Simmons’ E:60 segments will clearly bring his perspective to the television newsmagazine genre, complementing the show’s content with his witty and insightful observations about the intersecting worlds of sports and pop culture.”
Oh boy this is going to be a fun show!

(in a whiny, nasally, Andy Rooney-type voice) "You know who I don't like? M.L Carr."

"You know, the funny thing about guest speakers? I really don't know, but I just say that everytime I start speaking."

as long as the show is in black and white like the commercials, its bound to be an emotional tour de force

Haha, at least 58 minutes should be Jeremy Schapp staring into the camerca and say "I'm Heremy Schap.....ESPN."

Then he can just toss it back to himself in the studio to do the same thing.
